John Cuebas

My name is John Cuebas and I grew up in New York City in the borough of the Bronx, graduated from Adlai E Stevenson H.S. and attended 1 year at Herbert H. Lehman Community College. Served in the New York City Police Department as a Police Officer and a Detective for 20 years from July 18th of 1984 until I retired on July 20th 2004. While a member of the Police Department I was assigned to the Staten Landfill where we manually tried to find any remains for DNA purposes to bring closure to families who lost loved ones on that tragic day 9/11. As a Detective I was assigned to the Firearms Analysis Section where I was a firearms examiner. I also received armorers certifications such as Glock, Smith&Wesson, Kahr Arms, Colt, Mossberg, Sig Sauer, Beretta Etc. I have received training certificates in the use of computer ballistics systems such as IBIS, Intergrated Ballistics Identification System and Drugfire System. I received certificates in the field of Serial Number Restorations from the Bureau of Alcohol Tabacco and Firearms. Also received certificates in Advanced Shooting Incident Reconstruction. I was deemed as an expert in the field of Firearms Examination in several court jurisdictions in the city of New York.
