USCCA® Home Protection SnapshotTM
The first few decisions of home protection are the easy ones. Home Protection is about more than the physical security of your household. It's about three phases of preparation. Because true safety starts with knowing what to do if someone tries to test your home security.

Your first step
The Home Protection Snapshot is a scored system designed to show you how prepared your home is.
It adjusts as you check off items from the customized Home Protection Blueprint. It shows you how to upgrade your home from one that looks attractive to criminals, to one designed to keep you and your family safe and ready.
Which part of your entry door gives out first when someone puts a shoulder into it. It is not the part most households spend money upgrading, and the fix runs about twenty dollars and twenty minutes.
Where a person can stand at your front door without anyone on the street seeing them (clearing it is free, takes twenty minutes, and needs doing again next year).
One item on your Blueprint takes two minutes, costs nothing, and is still sitting open in almost every household that takes safety seriously.
How to pick one word that puts your whole household into motion, without anyone stopping to ask what you meant ... and the plan that walks all of you through choosing it.
Why the footage your camera caught may not be available (or accessible) and what you can do to never worry about it again.
And so much more

Being fully covered
A solid home protection plan covers three stretches of time.
What belongs in each one depends on your house, your household, and what you already have in place.

Doors, windows, lighting, and sightlines. Someone decides whether your house is worth trying before they ever touch it, and almost everything that shapes that decision is visible from the sidewalk.

Who does what, where everyone goes, and whether any of it has been said out loud. This is the part equipment cannot do for you.

Your state's laws, your camera footage, and supplies you can find in the dark. Most home security advice stops before this part.

83%
of burglars say they check for signs of a security system before deciding whether to break in. Most who find one go looking for an easier target.1
That means the way your home looks to a criminal could be exactly what deters them from testing your family's safety.
The USCCA Home Protection Snapshot is here to help you make your home look and feel safe through three distinct times … before they enter, while they're inside, and the days, weeks, months, and years after the incident has passed.
Complete protector

Most homes already have a few things. A lock, maybe a camera or two, and a firearm in a safe.
What far fewer homes have is an answer to the questions that come after.
Who calls 911 while someone else gets the kids?
Which room everyone goes to if someone is in the house?
Whether the door will hold long enough for help to arrive?

Preparation Tip
You don't need eyes on every angle of your property. You need eyes on the two or three that matter, and a door that holds when someone leans on it.
The most common fix here runs about $20 and takes twenty minutes. Cheap is not the same as ineffective.

Protection Tip
You're almost there...
Most gun owners don't put off training because they don't care. It lands in the “someday” pile, and someday keeps moving.
Roughly two in five gun owners have never had a formal firearms class1. Confidence that hasn't been tested is still a guess.
