In class time we will discuss the 4 gun safety rules, do’s and don’ts. How to handle a firearm. When to touch a firearm and when not to. There will be an introduction to firearms and some practice with practice pistols (they do not actually fire) also known as dry fire. How to make a firearm safe. We will discuss range safety before we go to the range. At the range we will do some live fire and practice everything that was taught.

This is not a water downed "girly" class. Women have more options to carry, and we will discuss all of them. We will discuss situational awareness. The different options for self-defense from lethal to non-lethal. There will be hands on also.

Students will get hands on experience with patient assessment, CPR, choking, seizures, tourniquet application, burn treatment, wound closure, bandages, SAM splint, elastic wrap, ace bandage, stabilizing a spinal injury, rib fractures, cardiac arrest, Heat stroke, hypothermia, shock, drug overdose, head trauma and Narcan use. Students will receive a certificate at the end of class.

Defend the Castle includes STAY READY! coming to your home and doing a thorough walk through and giving you advice on securing your home. Writing a list on the area’s that are considered weak points and includes recommendations on how to secure the home. Price does not include any equipment purchases.

Demonstrations on how non-lethal defensive/ less lethal items work. Pepper gel, tasers, Cubaton, defensive pen and other items will be viewed. Students will get hands on experience with some items.

In this class students will get hands on experience with pistols. The first half of the class will be learning how to handle, hold, load, unload, fill the magazines, aim and pull the trigger (trigger control). The second half of the class will be in the range doing actual live fire. Including in the fee is 1 target and 50 rounds of ammo. There is a separate fee at the range of $30 (STAY READY does not control that fee). I am keeping each session size to 6 students or less, so the students get the time and attention they need and not feel rushed or ignored.

This session is for cleaning a single firearm for $50. STAY READY! will teach you how to field strip and clean your firearm. I use only proper cleaning and lubricating chemicals that are made for firearms and will not damage them. All equipment used to clean firearms is all made to do so and will not damage firearms.

Gun smithing/ furniture install is $50/hr. Iron sights, red dots and scopes will need to be taken to the range to zero in (there is a $25 charge for the trip).

“Shoe shopping” is for someone that wants to try different firearms. Just to be trying out something different or searching for a new firearm. Try before you buy. “Shoe shopping” includes STAY READY! being with you and giving advice and pointers on firearms best suited for you. At the range the student gets to try up to 9 different firearms of their choosing from the available selection. Price includes 50 rounds of pistol ammo (22LR, 380ACP or 9MM) or 20 rounds of rifle ammo (2.23, 5.56 or 300 BLK OUT) or 10 rounds of shot gun ammo (410G, 10G or 12G). At the end of the event student will get a sheet with all the notes and comments from shoe shopping.

Gear and gadgets is all about accessorizing your firearm...how to carry it, store it, red dots, lasers, high-capacity magazines, different types of holsters, conceal carry purses, tactical lights, safes, cleaning kits and other gadgets.

1 on 1 or 1 on 2 private lessons is a 1-hour private session. You will get hands on tips and pointers on shooting and handling firearms. You can bring your own firearm or 1 will be provided. Please inform the instructor if you want pistols, rifles or shot guns.

You will learn how to clear misfires, jams, steady fire, fast target acquisition, unsighted fire, navigating a room, how to carry your firearm, fast magazine swap and A LOT more.

The STAY READY! weekend pass is 3 classes in one weekend at a discounted price. 1st will be the Intro to pistol class; 2nd will be Conceal carry class and 3rd will be the defensive pistol class. You choose the schedule either Friday evening intro to pistol, Saturday Conceal carry and Sunday will be Defensive pistol class or Saturday morning Intro to pistol, Saturday afternoon for Conceal carry and Sunday afternoon for Defensive pistol.

If you are nervous about the live fire portion this conceal carry class is for you. This class is for conceal carry with practice, but at the range for the live fire portion you will get extra time,1 extra target and an extra 50 rounds (1 box) of ammo to practice and some coaching before you do the actual qualifier to get your certificate.
