PRACTICAL CONCEALED CARRY - LEVEL 1 (CTAC 1 - CONCEALED EFFICIENCY)

Practical Concealed Carry - Level 1 (CTAC 1 - Concealed Efficiency) is designed to be an all-concealed class. This means every drill will be performed from concealment. This is intended to help develop the skills necessary (skills we all need to practice) to effectively respond to appropriate situations, as someone who carries a concealed weapon in day-to-day life. No tactical gear, just the clothes and equipment you carry with you every day.

CTAC-1 provides students with the tools and mindset necessary to properly defend themselves and their loved ones with a handgun. This class is four (4) hours of tactical pistol training at a shooting range. There are no prerequisites to this course, however, all students must be able to perform introductory-level skills such as basic weapons manipulation (i.e. locking slide to the rear, loading magazines, etc.). If students are not confident in their abilities with basic handgun manipulation, we recommend starting with our Handgun Basic Fundamental class and/or attending our Enhanced Concealed Carry class, both of which available on several dates throughout the year (see our class calendar at www.tvshootingacademy.com).

CTAC-1 is the prerequisite course that is required to attend the following classes: CTAC-2 (Introduction to Movement) PTAC-3 (Fire Team Drills).

Students will learn and practice drills in a safe, friendly, and supportive learning environment. Drills are intended to make students more comfortable with firing and manipulating their handgun from concealment, while also preparing them for a defensive encounter.

Class Information: The day begins with a safety brief as well as going over the mindset and philosophies regarding the defensive use of handguns. Then students will focus on dry fire manipulations, followed by live fire drills to introduce the proper placement of gear, loading/unloading and press checking, drawing and holstering, ready positions, moving with a firearm in ready positions, emergency reload, tactical reloads, clearing malfunctions, and fundamentals of marksmanship.

*Rental equipment (firearm/ammunition/eye & ear protection) is available for an additional fee and with advanced notice.

**All firearms must be unloaded and either in a case or holstered upon arrival. All firearms will remain in their case or holster until specifically directed to be taken out under the guidance of a TVSA Instructor.

Cancellation Policy: Students are required to cancel at least 48 hours in advance of a class date in order to receive a full refund. Classes cancelled less than 48 hours before the class will not be refunded.
