My Biography

David has a wide and varied history in public service. Starting out in Civil Air Patrol (USAF Auxiliary) in 1992 as a cadet volunteer and David rose through the ranks to Major while fulfilling multiple leadership roles through 20+ volunteer years.

At the age of 18, David expanded his volunteer service by becoming a volunteer fire fighter for a department in the suburbs of New Orleans.

David moved to the Denver area in 2000 and enlisted in the Colorado Air National Guard as part of the Security Forces (military police). While David was in basic training the tragic events of 9/11 happened. The following eight years were spent on active duty including two deployments to the Middle East, one to Central American, and a final one to the US/Mexico border. David obtained the rank of Technical Sergeant (E6) and was a Fire Team Leader and certified Flight Sergeant. Shortly after returning from his second deployment to the Middle East, David was selected to become a Flight Training NCO. The role of the Flight Training NCO was to develop and conduct training for flight member on duty. This ranged from classes on security to UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice) to conducting military exercises. Part of those exercises included training flight member in the use of force as a F.A.T.S. (FireArms Training Simulator) instructor. Part of David's duties were to assist the base populace on their shooting skills and range qualifications.

In 2009, David was released from active duty to return to a traditional guardsman status. This allowed him to pursue a career in civilian law enforcement and was hired by a local law enforcement organization. David continues serving the public today in this role and obtained a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice Administration . David has received several honors and accolades through out his time in the military and law enforcement:

"I was expecting something different/more. I just hope this class will be enough for my permit. That's what I thought the class was going to accomplish."

"Hi Wayne, I'm sorry I did not meet your expectations. The current state law only requires basic gun safety to get your permit. The class did cover a great deal more than state requirements and did cover everything that was advertised. So it is enough to satisfy the current state requirements to get your permit. If you wouldn't mind emailing or calling me to let me know what the "different/more" you were expect so I can improve I would appreciate it. I hope you're enjoying the rest of your weekend!""
