About your instructor:
Jim Owens is a U.S. Army veteran who served as a squad leader in the infantry. He spent 18 years as a police officer in a large Midwest municipality. He has been teaching law enforcement, active duty military and civilians for 18 years.
Jim holds several instructor level certifications, teaching law enforcement and civilians since 2008, including SWAT certification, Instructor Level Human Threat Pattern Recognition and Active Shooter. In addition, he has taught specialty courses such as Stop the Bleed, Tactical Combat Casualty Care and Simunitions/Scenario based training. Jim has been certified in the Glock Armorer’s Course, Glock Advanced Armorer’s Course, Low-Profile carry course and attended the Glock Instructor Workshop. Jim conducts quality, professional level training, for shooters from all backgrounds and disciplines. He is well versed in lecture based and “hands on” training techniques. He has developed a teaching style that is balanced with competence, patience, comprehensiveness and humor while keeping the safety of the students at the forefront. His techniques, constant adherence to practical applications and high standards for those he is teaching make for a rewarding and educational experience.
