We are talking about contact to 3 feet. At this range, just get the gun out of the holster, index your elbow against the side of your body, and fire. Your goals here are to get out of the way of the attack, put a round into the attacker, and create some distance. Nothing fancy. Just move and shoot.
Ideally, you don’t want to be so close to a potential attacker, but life is not perfect. Bad things happen and you need to know how to respond.
