This class is the foundation of armed self-defense training. From stance to grip to physical shooting technique, this class will help you get your body to work with your gun instead of against it. You will learn which intuitive skills work best with what your body will naturally do while under the stress of a violent encounter. Whether you’re looking to train on the basics of putting bullets where you want them to go or building your skill for rapid acquisition and engagement of multiple targets in a real-world scenario, you’ll find it in the Defensive Shooting Fundamentals class.

This class is designed for private or semi-private instruction for Concealed Carry Weapons License holders to further improve your firearms knowledge and weapons handling. Universal Safety Rules are reviewed with an introduction to Dry-Fire/Practice and Drawing from a holster. Familiarization with AR-15, Carbines, Shotguns and other weapons will include safe handling and operation. Real Life Situations discussed from a Defensive and Legal perspective.
Classroom portion if needed is in a private residence and range will be at a local shooting range. Actual location of training given at registration confirmation for security, safety, and privacy considerations. Times may vary due to local conditions.

This USCCA Defensive Shooting Fundamentals course will guide you through the steps you’ll need to take to go from just sending rounds downrange to actually training in specific, tested methods of armed self-defense. From stance to grip to physical shooting technique, Defensive Shooting Fundamentals will help you hone the edge on your inner warrior expert. Upon successfully completing this course, you will become USCCA CCHDF Certified Instructor, authorized to teach the USCCA CCHDF course, Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals. This course has become the gold standard across the United States for law abiding Americans seeking to obtain their concealed carry permit. As a USCCA Certified Instructor, you will be trained and equipped to provide world-class instruction to students. You will have access to our top-rated classroom materials (including a full set of PowerPoint presentations and classroom videos). During this two-day training course, you’ll be taught by a USCCA Training Counselor on a number of valuable topics, including: The top ten instructor mistakes, and how to avoid them; teaching best practices; and running a safe live fire range. You’ll also have a chance to demonstrate your knowledge of the USCCA training material through seven short presentations to a group of your peers, as well as running a live fire range, guiding your peers through the safe completion of the USCCA course of fire. This is a 1 hour course designed to educate the student on the safe handling and use of a handgun. Topics covered will be: FL Gun Laws, basic firearms safety, firearm manipulation, general maintenance and fundamentals of marksmanship. This course requires that the student demonstrate the ability to utilize safe gun handling techniques.

Equipment Needed: You may use your own weapon and ammo or rent ours at a nominal cost. Firearms used: Smith Wesson 9mm, Glock 17 Gen 5, Glock 19 Gen 5, Glock 44, Sig Sauer P238. Bring your electronic Hearing and eye protection or we will supply them. We will supply the targets which are included. At the successful completion of this course the student will be awarded a USCCA Certificate of Completion.

From understanding the AR-15 platform in the classroom to grasping the fundamentals of employing the AR-15 in a defensive critical dynamic incident, you will have started your journey with a solid foundation. If you don't own an AR-15, we have a limited amount available for a nominal rental fee. You will need approx. 100 rounds of .223 or 5.56 ammo minimum, 200 rounds recommended, which is available at cost.
