My Biography
Dan was born and raised in the Mid-Valley as the son of a police officer, where he developed a deep respect for firearms safety and training from an early age. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology and has been working in the firearms industry since 2015.
Passionate about honing his skills, Dan enjoys competing in IDPA and USPSA-style matches. Seeing a need for high quality firearms training in the Middle Rio Grande Valley, he became a USCCA-certified instructor and founded Guardian Shield Defense Solutions, LLC, to provide top tier, practical instruction.

In this Class we will be going over the fundamental aspects of firearms safety and training on and off the range where we will dive into proper firearm manipulation and range etiquette. This course will also include a "control the bleed" portion to prepare you for any training incident that might arise. Following a range safety brief we will head out to the range where we will work on proper grip, stance and posture. Once a good base point as been established we will move into a few dry and live fire drills to end our day. After class I will share a few dry fire drills for you to work on at home durring your down time to keep up our skills and build towards my Pistol 102 class!
Price of this class includes $20 range fee
In this Class we will spend 100% of our time on the range! There is little to no Classroom portion to this class as it is expected for you to already have taken my Pistol 101 Class or already have a deeper understanding of shooting/ firearms safety.
We will dive into Drawing from the holster and work more on our balance of speed and precision while incorporating a good clean draw in all of our drills. We will also introduce and added element of stress to our training... a shot timer!

In this 1:1 Class we'll work from the ground up, assessing your initial "base point" and working together to help improve your pistol proficiency and marskmanship skills! (While the class capacity is set to 1, please reach out to me for "couple"/group rates!)
We'll start with assessing your grip, stance, and posture. Then run through both dry and live fire drills building up to possible timed drills if you feel ready for it!
Remember there is no class room portion for this course. If you want to learn the fundamentals I strongly encourage my Pistol 101 class.

This course covers the topis required to obtain your TX License to Carry a Handgun, to in inclue:
Laws that relate to weapons and the use of deadly force Handgun use and safety Non-violent dispute resolution Proper storage practices for handguns
This course also includes the required course of firde needed to obtain your TX LTC. The shooting qual requires 50 rounds of ammunition fired at three distances:
3 yards – 20 rounds fired 7 yards – 20 rounds fired 15 yards – 10 rounds fired
