Runa Forge: Intermediate Pistol Range Lab,

RUNA Forge – Intermediate Course of Fire
100 Rounds | Intermediate Level | Not a Beginner Class
The RUNA Forge – Intermediate Course of Fire is an immersive defensive handgun program built for shooters who already understand firearm basics and want to sharpen their skill under more realistic pressure. This is not a beginner class. Students must arrive confident in safe firearm handling and ready to train with intention.
This course builds the Dangerous Protector mindset through structured reps, controlled stress, and purposeful movement. Students progress through drills involving Mozambique/Failure Drills, strong-hand and support-hand shooting, tactical reloads, kneeling positions, and malfunction clearing.
Course Overview
Training begins with a comprehensive safety briefing, full range orientation, and expectations for the day. Before a single round is chambered, students will receive instruction on:
Stance and balance under stress Grip and recoil control “Getting off the X” and movement principles Situational awareness and threat processing The role of de-escalation in violent encounters Before loading magazines or stepping onto the firing line, the instructor will walk the students through every movement and the full Course of Fire so the day runs safely and smoothly.
Students must demonstrate proper stance, grip, muzzle awareness, and safe handling before the instructor issues the command to Load and Make Ready. Live fire does not begin until readiness is confirmed.
Skills Developed Throughout this 100-round progression, students will strengthen: Two-handed, strong-hand, and support-hand shooting Mozambique / Failure Drill execution (2 center mass, 1 head) Kneeling and positional shooting with stability Tactical reloads and efficient weapon handling Immediate and remedial malfunction clearing Accuracy at speed and controlled cadence Movement, problem-solving, and real-world defensive decision-making
The final phase includes a malfunction lab where live rounds and snap caps are randomly mixed to force real-time correction and reinforce automaticity.
Who This Class Is For This class is designed for: Intermediate shooters ready for the next step Concealed carriers and home-defense practitioners Church safety team members Private security personnel Anyone preparing for the advanced RUNA Forge or Rangeside Labs
Shooters who want to build confidence under stress
Not for first-time shooters.
Outcome Students leave with increased accuracy, confidence, and control—capable of performing defensive handgun skills under fatigue, movement, and unexpected malfunctions. This course is a critical stepping stone toward advanced defensive shooting and reinforces the discipline central to the Dangerous Protector lifestyle.

Fidelis Runa Solutions is opening enrollment for the Level 1 RUNA Prepared Program. Over the years, I’ve met a lot of responsible people who purchased a firearm for the right reasons, protecting themselves, their family, and exercising their rights, and for work. But many never receive a clear path after purchasing that firearm. They spend $600–$1,200 on a quality handgun… maybe take one basic class… and then training stops there. That’s where confidence fades. That’s where safety gaps begin. Owning a firearm comes with responsibility, and that responsibility doesn’t end after getting your Texas LTC. It requires continued training, safe habits, medical knowledge, and confidence under stress. Honestly LTC is a little too easy in my opinion. That’s exactly why I built this program. Over 5 Saturdays, you’ll train in: • Basic Handgun Fundamentals • Texas LTC Qualification • Defensive Shooting Development • Stop The Bleed Training • Home Defense Education • Everyday Carry Mindset • Practical Range Confidence Training will take place over 5 Saturdays at multiple locations depending on classroom needs and range availability. Included: • First Aid Fundamentals Book • Home Defense & Concealed Carry Book • The Runa Doctrine • Starter First Aid Kit • 400 Rounds of Ammunition • Targets • Range Fees • Classroom Fees No hidden costs. My goal isn’t to hand you a certificate. My goal is to help you become more capable, more confident, and more prepared. The USCCA Basic Handgun Course is an excellent starting point for new gun owners or anyone wanting to strengthen their knowledge and confidence. This classroom-only course covers universal firearm-safety rules, handgun types and operation, ammunition, malfunction clearing, defensive shooting fundamentals, holsters, storage, gear selection, dry-fire practice, and how to build a responsible training plan.
Why it matters: Safe firearm ownership begins with knowledge—not live fire. Students learn how handguns work, how to handle and store them responsibly, and how to make informed decisions before stepping onto a range.
No live ammunition or live-fire exercises are included. No previous firearm experience is required.

Texas License to Carry — Online Course + Range Proficiency
When you register, the class date you select is your scheduled in-person Range Instruction and Handgun Proficiency Test.
Complete the state-approved online classroom portion at your own pace before your scheduled range date. Once completed, you will receive an LTC-101 form, which you must bring to the range.
Why Obtain a Texas LTC? Although Texas allows permitless carry for eligible individuals, obtaining an LTC provides valuable education and potential benefits, including:
Understanding Texas weapons and use-of-force laws Conflict avoidance and nonviolent dispute resolution Recognition by many other states, subject to each state’s laws Potential exemption from a separate NICS background check when purchasing from a federally licensed Texas dealer Additional legal protections available to qualifying LTC holders Eligibility to carry in certain locations where permitless carry may not apply Campus-carry privileges where permitted by law More informed interactions with law enforcement Documented evidence of your commitment to responsible, lawful carry
Reciprocity and firearm-purchase requirements can change. Always verify current federal law and the laws of every state in which you intend to carry.
How the Program Works Register for your preferred proficiency-test date. Complete the state-approved four-to-six-hour online classroom course. Pass the online written examination and receive your LTC-104. Attend your scheduled range session with Fidelis Runa Solutions. Complete the required range instruction and handgun proficiency test. Submit your completed LTC-104 and remaining application documents to Texas DPS.
Texas requires students who complete the classroom portion online to receive one to two hours of in-person range instruction before attempting the proficiency demonstration.
What Happens at the Range?
Your range session begins with:
Firearm and range-safety review Questions and answers based on your completed online course Safe loading, unloading and handling procedures Review of the qualification course and range commands A short firearm-familiarization exercise of up to 20 rounds, when appropriate
You will then complete the official handgun proficiency test by firing 50 rounds from distances of three, seven and fifteen yards.
What to Bring
Students should bring:
Completed LTC-104 form Government-issued photo identification Reliable handgun or arrangements for a rental At least 70 rounds of the correct ammunition Eye protection Ear protection Appropriate range attire and closed-toe shoes Additional Costs and Rentals
The range fee is not included in the course price and must be paid directly to the range.
Eye and ear protection are required but are not included. Both may be available to rent from the range. Handgun rentals may also be available, subject to range availability, rental fees and ammunition requirements.
If you use a rental firearm, we will explain its basic controls and safe operation before the test.
Experience Requirements
The LTC proficiency session is an evaluation, not a beginner firearms class. Students must already possess the basic ability to safely load, unload, operate and fire a handgun.
Anyone needing additional instruction should complete an FRS Handgun Basics course or private training session before scheduling the LTC proficiency test.
Build Knowledge. Demonstrate Proficiency. Carry Responsibly.
Completing the Texas LTC process is an important first step toward developing a lawful, capable and responsible Personal Protection Mindset. An LTC does not replace continued training—it establishes the legal and safety foundation upon which responsible armed citizenship is built.
Basic Range Lab
Prerequisite: Completion of FRS Basics 101 is required.
The Basic Range Lab is the live-fire continuation of the FRS Basics 101 classroom course. This course takes the safety principles, handgun operation, and shooting fundamentals introduced in the classroom and puts them into practice on the range.
Students will receive instructor-guided live-fire training focused on safe firearm handling, loading and unloading, proper grip and stance, sight alignment, trigger control, recoil management, and basic marksmanship.
This is a beginner-level range course designed to build confidence and safe habits—not speed or advanced defensive shooting.
Students may bring their own handgun or, if they are still considering which firearm is right for them, use the class as an opportunity to experience several common carry handgun platforms.
Course Includes:
- Instructor-led range training
- Range fee
- 50 rounds of 9mm ammunition
- Opportunity to experience multiple handgun platforms when available
Course Length: Approximately 2 hours Course Cost: $85 Prerequisite: FRS Basics 101 Location: Outdoor range

This course also serves as the foundation for students who want to continue into FRS practical, holster, concealed-carry, or defensive firearms training.
Texas LTC Proficiency Qualification Only — This course is for students who have already completed the online Texas LTC classroom course and need to complete the safety instruction and shooting proficiency qualification. Need both the online course and proficiency qualification? Please register for the online LTC class instead.
