What You'll Learn
This course is designed to help victims of major bleeding and other traumatic injuries until first responders arrive. This is an interactive course where you will apply what you are taught in various scenarios. You will learn about hemostatic bandages, tourniquets, pressure bandages and various other bandages in stopping major bleeding. You will also learn about other traumatic injuries like flailed chest and broken ribs, puncture wounds, compound fractures and loss of extremities. We will run scenarios to practice sizing up the scene, primary and secondary assessments and how to address compensated and decompensated shock.
Cancellation Policy: Students are required to cancel at least 48 hours in advance of a class date in order to receive a full refund. Classes cancelled less than 48 hours before the class will not be refunded.
What We'll Teach
Save a Life: Control the Bleed
Participants will learn how to control severe arterial bleeding using commercial tourniquets or improvised methods, apply compression bandages, pack wounds, and treat chest injuries.
