In this course you will learn about the main topics pertaining to the carrying of handguns in the state of Texas. The overall objective of this course is to educate students on the responsibilities and laws applicable to handgun license holders. Before attending the in-person class, you must complete the assigned eLearning accessible through your USCCA dashboard.

Developing a personal & home protection plan is a key component of not only preparing for how we should (or might) react if confronted by a violent crime, but also how we might avoid violent crime in the first place. Within this lesson, Michael Martin explains that developing a protection plan is about much more than becoming proficient with a firearm or writing up a home invasion plan. It’s a plan that must encompass awareness, avoidance, and preparation, so that we’re less likely to find ourselves in a situation where we have no other option than to use our firearm, rather than more likely.

This lesson will introduce you to a wealth of information on different types of self-defense firearms including handguns, home defense shotguns, and the AR-15 platform, where Michael Martin provides easy to understand explanations of the common terms used so frequently. The goal of this lesson is to de-mystify what can sometimes feel like a topic reserved for experts.

This course is combined with the Texas License to Carry Class. You will learn the basic fundamentals to shoot in a handgun to pass the LTC. We recommend that you still take a basic pistol course.

This classroom and live-fire AR-15 Fundamentals course is designed to introduce responsible gun owners to the safe handling, proper maintenance, and effective use of AR-15-style rifles in the context of civilian home defense and defense. Classroom topics include: - Overview of basic AR-15 nomenclature and function - Cleaning and maintenance - Accessorizing the AR-15 Live-range topics include: - How to safely and effectively operate an AR-15 - How to confirm zero - How to improve skills and precision with an AR-15

ALL STUDENTS PLEASE READ THIS: Students will learn basic shooting fundamentals: -Stance -Grip -Aim -Trigger squeeze and discipline -Operation of semi auto pistol 1 hour in the classroom, 1 hour on the range. This class is intended for those who already have a pistol OR know what pistol they want to rent and train with. For students that need help with pistol selection, please consult with a trainer PRIOR to this class. Students may also consider taking Sendero's Pistol Fundamentals class - which is Basic Pistol but also includes time with the instructor to be fitted or guidance from an instructor for pistol selection. This class does NOT cover red-dots or sighting in red-dots. If a student comes to class with a pistol that has a red-dot, that red-dot must be previously sighted in. Most students who complete this class are ready to take the Texas LTC.

This class is a basic class to learn the fundamentals of operating an AR-15 in a home defense situation.

Students will be required to score a 175 out of 250 for the Texas LTC proficiency.
