Learn all-things-ammunition related during this 2 hour mini session. We’ll break down the components of a round of ammunition and demystify how it works together to create the bang. We’ll learn the characteristics of self-defense ammunition and discuss ammunition care & storage.

This course will have a myopic focus out of the curriculum referenced below. We will rotate between the subjects of PROPER GRIP, STANCE OR SHOOTING PLATFORM, FIREARM SIGHTS, and TRIGGER CONTROL

Learn and understand the reasoning behind the Universal Rules of Firearrms Handling.

Using a firearm is a safe activity as long as you have a firm understanding of the Safety Rules surrounding the activity. There is no such thing as a Firearms accident; there is only negligence.

We’ll take a deep dive into why each universal safety rule is in place.

THIS CLASS IS MANDATORY FOR ANYONE WANTING TO MOVE TO LIVE SHOOTING THROUGH MY ACADEMY.

So you want to go to the range? Come learn the ins & outs of what to wear AND . . . What NOT to wear when readying for the shooting range. You’ll will see specific examples of varying attire that will either compromise your safety on a live-fire range or engage your overall experience and safety when shooting. An additional discussion of safety equipment and varying approved range gear will be woven into a fashion-show-style-format.

Learn the 4 COLOR CODES OF AWARENESS and find out where you are in your thinking & your responses to everyday interaction and stimuli.

The color codes help us become more aware of our surroundings and help us avoid an encounter, in the first place.

Part 1 of this 5 Part Series will focus on learning more about pistols & handguns so you may become better educated to select the right pistol for yourself. You may be interested in a pistol for self defense, home defense, range plinking/target practice or maybe a combination of these. Revolver vs. Semi automatic; small guns vs mid-size vs. large. There are a plentiful number of options but often going to a gun store can be overwhelming. Come take the first step in LEARNING WHAT EACH TYPE OF PISTOL OFFERS. This session is a classroom lecture - for women only - and there is NO live fire or range time.

Part 3: Get to know your handgun! Participate in a safe environment with a small group of other beginners. Repeat basic drills with small round-counts as you practice fundamentals to effectively punch holes in your target.

We will meet at the Academy and drive over to the range together.

The long awaited day has come to purchase the pistol of your recent dreams, but you are thinking you need some help. I’m always excited to help a student select a new firearm. We will all meet at Americana Arms in Beeville, Tx. and begin the purchasing process. You will fill out your FORM 4473 so bring your Driver’s License and/or Concealed Handgun License, if you have one.

This option is private & assisted VIRTUAL RANGE TIME for up to 2 people at $50/per hour EACH. Available exercises and drills include but are not limited to: pistol target practice; “Should I Shoot?” Scenarios; AR-15 target practice; Competitive Shooter Drills; Steel target challenges, and so much more.

An introduction to the Simulation/Smokeless Range - basic target practice and various scenario responses, using a Laser Training Pistol that has a moving trigger & shot sound, and an ejectable, weighted magazine. Students will be able to witness and participate during the one hour range demonstration and exercises.
