My Biography
Led by certified instructor Alexandre “Big Al” Jolly(USCCA Instructor, Texas Firearms Institute specializes in Texas License to Carry (LTC) courses, beginner handgun fundamentals, women’s self-defense, shotgun training, and tailored programs for military veterans, seniors, and first-time shooters. Classes combine online or in-person classroom instruction with live-fire range time, meeting or exceeding Texas DPS requirements and USCCA standards.
Big Al founded the Institute after arriving in Texas in 2022 with minimal experience and a strong desire to help others. His personal journey—from complete novice to confident instructor—shapes a unique teaching philosophy: no ego, no rushing, and full commitment to every student’s success. He emphasizes that he remembers what it feels like to hold a pistol for the first time, which allows him to connect especially well with nervous beginners, non-native English speakers, and those seeking a calm, supportive learning environment.
