This class is intended for the person who is either new to firearms, or is considering introducing a firearm into their home. Topics covered during the class include, but are not limited to, firearms as a tool, the universal firearm safety rules, common sense storage solution for both home and on the go (specifically geared towards preventing unauthorized access, including children), discussion of basic firearms "types" among with some nomenclature, and a brief discussion on the operation of common handguns. This class is geared towards adults and children over 12.

This course satisfies the "suitable training" requirement set forth by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) necessary to apply for a Concealed Weapon Permit (CWP). This course is largely conducted in a classroom environment, along with a mandatory twenty-five (25) round live-fire qualification course. There is also a fifty (50) question written exam that students must pass in order to get credit for the training. This course also include the newly adopted subject matter in support of the "Open Carry with Training" law which recently passed in South Carolina. The mandatory topics are as follows:

1. The statutory and case law of South Carolina relating to handguns and the use of deadly force. This includes prohibited carry locations in South Carolina and the proper interaction with law enforcement officers while carrying.
2. Handgun use and safety.
3. The proper storage practice for handguns with an emphasis on storage practices that reduce the possibility of accidental injury to a child.
4. Properly securing a firearm in a holster.
5. "Cocked and Locked" carrying of a firearm.
6. How to respond to a person who attempts to take your firearm from your holster.
7. Deescalation techniques and strategies.
8. The actual firing of a handgun in the presence of the instructor.

This course is intended to cover the basic concepts & principles related to both home & personal defense. Topics will include: a review of the Universal Firearms Safety Rules, physical security considerations (lights/locks/alarms), common construction of modern homes, firearms selection (type, caliber, ammunition), discussion / demo of flashlights (both handheld and weapon mounted lights), cover & concealment issues, development of a "family plan", legal & moral considerations involving the use of deadly force, and preparing for contact with responding law enforcement. We will also spend time discussing situational awareness, Cooper's Color Codes, and ways to increase your safety and survivability, both in the home and out in public.

This class is a ground-level approach to the fundamentals of handgun marksmanship. All shooting is done under the direct supervision and instruction of the Instructor(s). The flow of the class willl be limited discussion on a specific skill, followed by an Instructor demonstration of the skill, followed by practice with the student, culminating with live fire training on the skill. The shooting will all be static (non-moving) with emphasis placed on building both the confidence and efficiency of each shooter. This class focuses on getting the beginning (or returning) shooter established in both handgun fundamentals as well as self-confidence in weapons manipulation and handling.

This is an advanced level course designed to push shooters to the next level of proficiency with their handguns, specifically focusing on deploying and using their firearm in a defensive shooting situation. Drills will focus on drawing from concealment, immediate action drills, combat reloads, shooting & moving, and one-handed shooting. Attendance at this course assumes that the shooter is already highly familiar with the fundamentals of firearms, marksmanship, and safe gun handling. If you are not at this point in your firearms training journey, I highly recommend that you attend our Handgun 1 class.

This class covers concepts and principles for dealing with an active assailant / mass shooter incident. Topics include, but are not limited to, Avoid, Deny, Defend, preparing for the arrival of police, situational awareness, and the history of active shooter events in the US.

This is a personalized course for 1-2 students who require or desire a smaller, more agile training environment. This course is advertised (and priced) for a 2 hour session. If the student(s) requires more or less time, please coordinate with Apex Tactical directly. The course description will be 100% at the request of the student.

This class will walk the student through basic disassembly of their handgun into it's major parts (field stripped), the proper inspection, cleaning, and maintenance of these parts, and proper re-assembly and function check of the handgun. This skillset is critical to maintaining a handgun that is mission ready and properly functioning when it is needed to protect self, home, & family. The focus of this class is not simply to oversee the student cleaning their handgun, but to TEACH the students how to clean their handgun(s) and build on those skills in the future. These skills will also build confidence in the actual handling & manipulation of the firearm.

Upon successfully completing this course, you will become USCCA Certified Instructor, uniquely authorized to teach the USCCA course, Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals. This course has become the gold standard across the United States for law abiding Americans seeking to obtain their concealed carry permit. As a USCCA certified instructor, you will be trained and equipped to provide world-class instruction to students. You will have access to our world class classroom materials (including a full set of PowerPoint presentations and classroom videos). During this two-day training course, you’ll be taught by a USCCA Training Counselor on a number of valuable topics, including: The top ten instructor mistakes, and how to avoid them; teaching best practices; and running a safe live fire range. You’ll also have a chance to demonstrate your knowledge of the USCCA training material through seven short presentations to a group of your peers, as well as running a live fire range, guiding your peers through the safe completion of the USCCA course of fire. After completion of this course, you’ll not only be intimately familiar with the USCCA training methodology and materials, you’ll be a far better instructor and presenter, regardless of the topic of choice. Prior to the class, you must complete the corresponding eLearning. After passing the class, you will be sent an instructor shirt and toolkit.

This course focuses on the shotgun, both as a defensive solution, as well as a home defense option. Whether you are shooting a pump action or semi-automatic shotgun, this class will cover the basics of shotgun deployment, as well as various considerations when using this platform. Topics will include nomenclature and function of the modern defensive shotgun, loading/unloading protocols, as well as live-fire drills to reinforce both accuracy, as well as combat reloading.

Firearms Training for the CBC Safety Team Director (1 Person)

This is a six week curriculum designed to progress from basic handgun / carbine to full combat courses. We will be focusing on proper deployment of both weapons platforms, stress affected target selection, transition drills, reload drills, all while working from both concealment and battle gear.

This class is designed as a baseline course to instruct the shooter who is new to the AR platform rifle/carbine. Discussion about origins, capabilities, limitations and proper deployment will precede a discussion & demonstration of the basic operating functions of this platform. This will include: loading, unloading, cycle of operation, firing positions, sighting systems and immediate action drills.

Real estate agents face a high risk of violent encounters in the workplace, more so than many other professions. WHAT REAL ESTATE AGENTS WILL LEARN THROUGH THIS REAL ESTATE AGENT SAFETY & SELF-DEFENSE CLASS: - How to identify job-related activities that put agents at risk of an attack. - Situational Awareness: Teach students the finer points of tuning into their environment, helping them avoid a potentially violent encounter. - Commonly used cell phone safety features and apps that can be used to keep agents safe. - Legal use-of-force: What criteria must be met before an agent can use reasonable or deadly force – and the consequences that might follow. - Defensive Options: Armed, unarmed and less lethal. This class will focus on Handgun fundamentals and tactical application. This class will begin with a very brief discussion of "fundamentals of marksmanship" and quickly evolve into the basics of defensive shooting. Shooters will work on presentation of the firearm from the holster (with concealing garment), the draw stroke, immediate action drills, reloading, multiple target engagement, one-handed shooting, and support side shooting.

This class is a variation on the Introduction to Firearms / Firearms Safety & Home Defense Courses. It is being provided to veterans and their spouses in support of the Fidelis non-profit organization.

This class is designed to provide an overview and introduction to TASER Self-Defense products and the technology that is involved with "energy weapons". There will be an overview of the TASER technology, differences in law enforcement models & civilian models, discussion of legal considerations with a TASER Self-Defense weapon, as well as various models that are available and options offered in each model. This class will also include an Instructor led demonstration of a TASER deployment at a conductive target. The purpose of this class is to introduce students to both the capabilities and model offerings within the TASER Self-Defense line of products. Students will also be given a code for substantial savings if they choose to purchase a TASER product.

This course is designed to introduce the student to the fundamentals of RDS (Red Dot Sight) optics on handguns. The course will focus on ensuring that students understand the differences between shooting with traditional iron sights and RDS optics. Drills will consist of marksmanship fundamentals, draw-stroke practice, dot acquisition, and multiple shot drills.

This is a "1 Hour" version of the normal "2 Hour" private lesson model for 1-2 shooters.

A Certified NLP Instructor may then decide to teach one, or all, of these devices as "end-user" classes. Each device has an associated "Instructor Toolkit" which is available for purchase through USCCA. These purchases are INDEPENDENT of the base certification course.

This course is designed to give the student an overview of the Byrna Self-Defense Launcher. Discussions will include design, function, maintenance, and deployment. As part of this course, students will be given the opportunity to shoot the Byrna launcher at a static target in a controlled environment. No prior experience is necessary for this class.

Test

This course is designed to give students a high level overview of the six (6) devices covered under the USCCA Non-Lethal Program (NLP). It will include brief descriptions of the TASER Strikelight 2, TASER Pulse 2, ASP Defender OC Spray, Sabre OC Spray, Byrna Self-Defense Launcher, and Sabre Self-Defense Launcher. This course is intended ONLY to provide information to the student regarding types and brands of non-lethal self-defense products offered and trained by USCCA.
