Alecia Roberson

I'm Alecia, pronounced uh-LEE-shuh — most people call me Lisa. I am the founder and Personal Protection Educator of Empowered Personal Protection LLC.

I am a USCCA Certified Firearms Instructor and Official USCCA Partner, NRA Certified Pistol Instructor, USCCA Certified Range Safety Officer, and Stop the Bleed® Instructor and Licensee. My credentials extend beyond technical instruction to include training in Trauma-Informed Somatic Coaching, Empowerment Self-Defense Instructor Training, Human Rights Consultation through USIDHR, and Anti-Human Trafficking Education. Empowered Personal Protection is a CAGE-registered business entity, verified through the U.S. System for Award Management.

My approach is informed by how people actually learn and perform under stress. This shapes everything I teach — from concealed carry classes to my proprietary programs The Space Between™ and The Assertive Edge™. The Space Between™ is a decision-making and personal protection class built for the moment most people actually face: when something feels off and you must choose what to do. The Assertive Edge™ is a six-session coaching program developing presence, voice, awareness, and tool integration for people building confidence that holds under pressure.

I work with students across all backgrounds and beginner - intermediate experience levels — brand new shooters, those preparing for their Ohio CCW, survivors building safety skills on their own terms, professionals navigating high-stress environments, and shooters refining their craft. My classes maintain the highest standards of safety, respect, and accountability while meeting students exactly where they are.

I am also a mother of three and a grandmother of six. In 2019, while living in Arizona, my youngest daughter and I experienced a situation that underscored how quickly a normal day can change — and how important it is to be prepared to protect yourself and the people you love. That experience deepened my commitment to training, responsibility, and readiness. While I benefited from excellent instructors, I also noticed gaps — a lack of female representation, and a lack of learner-centered, trauma-aware instruction for people who were nervous, hesitant, or carrying difficult histories. I chose to become the instructor I once needed.

Empowered Personal Protection was founded with family preservation, responsibility, and education at its core. My mission is to help individuals build a proactive defensive mindset, develop competence under pressure, and become capable, informed first responders for themselves and their loved ones.

I have been featured four times on WDTN Channel 2, Dayton's NBC affiliate, for expertise in firearms safety, women's training, home protection, and community safety education. I also have the privilege of facilitating the Dayton, Ohio Chapter of A Girl & A Gun Women's Shooting League, a women-only organization dedicated to safety, skill development, and community for pistol shooters of beginner and intermediate level.
