What You'll Learn
The E3 Personal Defense Introduction to Handguns: Safety, Fundamentals, and First Shots course is intentionally designed for individuals who are new to firearms or seeking a safe, structured, and confidence-building starting point. This course places a strong emphasis on education and understanding, with the majority of instruction conducted in a classroom setting. It is ideal for those who may feel hesitant, intimidated, or simply want to learn before stepping onto the range.
Students will be introduced to handgun fundamentals through guided instruction and hands-on learning using laser training systems such as LaserLyte or SIRT training pistols. These tools allow students to practice safely and build familiarity before transitioning to live-fire exercises on the range, where they will take their first shots under instructor supervision.
Course Topics Include: ✔️What defines a handgun and how it is used ✔️The anatomy and basic operation of a pistol ✔️Handgun considerations: choosing what is appropriate for you ✔️Safe firearm handling and storage principles ✔️Introduction to basic shooting fundamentals and techniques
This course is ideal for individuals who: ✔️Have fears, reservations, or limited exposure to firearms ✔️Are considering purchasing their first handgun ✔️Live in a household where firearms are present ✔️Want to better understand firearm safety for themselves or their children ✔️Plan to pursue additional firearms training or an NC Concealed Carry permit ✔️Desire a strong foundation before advancing to skill-based or defensive training
Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a training certificate.
