What You'll Learn
The USCCA Certified Instructor Course — hosted by Downtown Tactical, Long Lane, MO
You already love firearms. You already know more than most people in the room. So why aren't you getting paid for it?
This two-day course is your path from passionate shooter to credentialed instructor — one who can legally teach, sign student certificates, and build a training business that actually makes money.
This is not an NRA "pay-and-pass" course. You can — and will be expected to — actually earn this.
What You'll Walk Away With: USCCA Certified Instructor credentials recognized across the country — our graduates are already teaching in Missouri, Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, and beyond
The legal authority to teach USCCA concealed carry courses and sign student certificates
A 50-round live-fire shooting qualification across four distances — pass with 70% or better
A written exam covering USCCA methodologies, techniques, and expectations
Classroom skills, teaching frameworks, and range management techniques to run a professional class from day one
Access to the USCCA Training Platform — where their SEO puts students in your seats
A pathway to add additional USCCA curricula: Women's Handgun & Self-Defense, Emergency First Aid, Countering the Mass Shooter Threat, and more
Who This Is For: ✅ Experienced shooters ready to turn their passion into purpose
✅ Current or retired military and law enforcement looking to serve their community in a new way
✅ Business-minded individuals who want to build or expand a training operation
✅ Anyone who believes that more trained, responsibly armed Americans is a good thing
This course is not for people looking for an easy certificate. The USCCA holds its instructors to a higher standard — and so do we.
What the Two Days Look Like: Day 1 — Classroom & Curriculum Mastery You'll work through the USCCA Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals (CCHDF) curriculum, instructor code of conduct, top instructor mistakes (yes, they're real), adult learning theory, and how to actually teach — not just recite.
Day 2 — Live Fire & Teach-Backs You'll complete your 50-round shooting qualification and demonstrate your ability to teach range skills safely and effectively. Your training counselor will give you real, actionable feedback.
Before You Arrive: E-learning must be completed 48 hours prior to the course start. No exceptions — we can see your progress, and if it's not done, you'll be rescheduled.
This Credential Has Accountability Built In: Once you're certified, you're expected to maintain it. USCCA requires instructors to teach a minimum of 20 students per year to stay active. That's not a burden — that's the business you're building.
A Note From Your Instructor: "We teach this course because we believe the firearms training space needs more professionals — people who show up prepared, treat students with respect, and understand that what we do in the classroom and on the range has real-world consequences. If that's you, we want to certify you." — Graham & Jennifer Hunt, USCCA Training Counselors, Downtown Tactical
