What You'll Learn
The Founder Arms Permit to Carry course acts as the State of Minnesota mandated course to obtain your Permit to Carry for Minnesota.
This course focuses on the legal knowledge and defensive mindset needed to begin your Permit to Carry journey that culminates with the required shooting proficiency test.
Students are expected to have a basic knowledge in the safe use of a firearm to include, loading, unloading and shooting a handgun.
Topics include Firearms Safety, Fundamentals of Defensive Shooting, Use of Force & Alternatives to Deadly Force, Conflict Avoidance & De-escalation, Realities of Criminal Assault, State Statutes, Case Law Studies, What not to do with your Permit, Legal Home Defense, Firearm and Ballistic Considerations, Holster Selection, Physical and Psychological Reactions, and Dealing with Law Enforcement Encounters.
This is a legal class and not a handgun instruction course. If you are not familiar with the proper safe handling, including operation of your firearm, or need a refresher, we strongly encourage you to reach out about our Private Lessons.

***This course takes place at the Founder Arms Shop for the classroom portion and then will move to a nearby outdoor range for the shooting qualification.
