This is an introductory level course designed to give students an understanding of basic Stop the Bleed principles, with concepts taken from The American College of Surgeons & DOD's Stop the Bleed course, NAEMT's TCCC/TECC, EMR/EMT coursework & American Red Cross First Aid coursework.

The 2nd half of the course will be hands on with simulators & practice materials provided by Founder Arms.

Founder Arms Defensive Pistol Class is a beginner to intermediate 4 hour course designed to give students of any experience level the necessary skills to feel confident carrying a handgun for their defensive, training, or recreational needs.

This class is designed to be accessible to all levels of shooters and incorporates a low round count to maximize on value while instilling the skills necessary to train further on your own or in future classes.

Topics covered in this course include: Basic Pistol Handling & Safety, Holster & Carry Placement Considerations, Holster Draw & Presentation, Thumb-Pectoral Retention, Proper Reload & Malfunction Clearing Techniques & Defensive Mindset.

The course will start in the classroom for introductions on the topics, safety briefing, gear check, and some dry fire warmups before moving onto the range for the remainder of the course.

Required Equipment:

A semi-automatic handgun chambered in 9mm, .45acp, .40 or .380

A Kydex OWB (outside the waistband) or IWB (inside the waistband) holster

Ability to carry 2 spare magazines on your person 3 total magazines required

The Founder Arms Permit to Carry course acts as the State of Minnesota mandated course to obtain your Permit to Carry for Minnesota.

This course focuses on the legal knowledge and defensive mindset needed to begin your Permit to Carry journey that culminates with the required shooting proficiency test.

Students are expected to have a basic knowledge in the safe use of a firearm to include, loading, unloading and shooting a handgun.

Topics include Firearms Safety, Fundamentals of Defensive Shooting, Use of Force & Alternatives to Deadly Force, Conflict Avoidance & De-escalation, Realities of Criminal Assault, State Statutes, Case Law Studies, What not to do with your Permit, Legal Home Defense, Firearm and Ballistic Considerations, Holster Selection, Physical and Psychological Reactions, and Dealing with Law Enforcement Encounters.

This is a legal class and not a handgun instruction course. If you are not familiar with the proper safe handling, including operation of your firearm, or need a refresher, we strongly encourage you to reach out about our Private Lessons.

Founder Arms Defensive Rifle One is a four-hour course designed for beginners or returning shooters. This course provides students with the fundamental skills necessary to safely and confidently operate a rifle for defensive, training, or recreational purposes.

The curriculum is designed to be accessible to shooters of all experience levels while maintaining a manageable round count to maximize training value. Students will leave with a solid foundation upon which they can continue practicing independently or build through future Founder Arms courses. This course also serves as an excellent recurring training opportunity for those looking to develop, maintain, and refine essential rifle skills through regular practice.

Topics Covered:

Firearm Safety & Range Procedures Rifle Handling Fundamentals Sling Setup & Utilization Rifle Presentation & Ready Positions Reloading & Malfunctions Techniques Rifle to Pistol Transitions The course begins in the classroom with introductions, administrative requirements, safety briefing, equipment inspection, and dry-fire exercises. Students will then transition to the live-fire range for practical application of the skills taught.

Semi-automatic rifle chambered in 5.56 NATO or similar caliber Functional rifle sling Three magazines minimum Method of carrying at least two spare magazines on your person Eye & Ear protection Appropriate weather-appropriate range attire Minimum of 300 rounds of ammunition Reccomended Equipment:

Duty/Battle Belt Electronic Hearing Protection Water Bottle & Snacks Sunscreen and/or Bug Spray Training is conducted rain or shine unless severe weather or unsafe conditions require modification or rescheduling.
