Phoenix Rising Firearm Academy is a well-trained group of people, both men and women, dedicated to promoting safe gun handling and skill-sets for the everyday person on up to the well seasoned tactical enthusiast. We offer a relaxed environment in a classroom and range setting, whether you are looking to obtain a concealed pistol license or develop a plan to protect your business, church, school, or home from a mass shooting. We help with everything from determining eligibility to carry insurance. We can even help you find a top firearm attorney, should you need advice on lethal force with a firearm. We are all certified NRA and USCCA instructors that believe in continued training for every individual, including ourselves. Our motto is "Raise The Bar" and we take it seriously. You will routinely find us in developmental courses honing our own skills. We believe in building student's trust in our knowledge. We can only gain that knowledge through developing our own performance and education.

Our friendly staff truly enjoy connecting with individuals and building lifelong relationships with students. When you hire us, we are not just your instructor for the day. We are here for you for life. To protect you and educate you. We make it a point to give back to our communities by offering free training and volunteering at many recognized functions throughout the year. Phoenix Rising staff are dedicated to staying current on Michigan and Federal laws, and we do that by staying active in safeguarding our constitutional inalienable rights in Lansing. Hello, and welcome to Phoenix Rising Firearm Academy

I'm Christie Bass, the owner and Chief Instructor of Phoenix Rising, and I'm looking forward to meeting you! ​ Are you looking for a place to get a great firearms education? Not only is firearm safety and training a focus, I offer situational awareness training, first aid and trauma training, range safety training and more! All taught through positive reinforcement and empowerment. No harsh commands and no singling out. My goal is to connect with students and create a relaxed and fun environment, where each individual feels comfortable and excited to learn as much as possible.

I believe strongly in continued education, for myself, our staff, and my students. I enjoy earning your trust and being by your side as you navigate the endless amount of information available to help you protect yourself and loved ones from violence.

I am constantly challenging myself to learn more about the why and how when it comes to personal protection. I want to share that knowledge with you!
