Growing up in Michigan, Rick began firearms instructing career in law enforcement, where he developed expertise in conflict resolution and personal defense. After transitioning to corporate management, he felt a strong calling to return to his roots in personal safety, leading him to establish the Michigan Pistol Academy in 2004.

At the academy, Rick offers a variety of courses for all skill levels, emphasizing safety, marksmanship, and the legal aspects of firearm use.
