We will travel to complete the shooting qualification at American Shooters (128 W. Bell Ave. Clarksville, In 47129)
The primary goals of this course are to learn firearm safety and basic handgun shooting fundamentals, with a self-defense focus. Topics include safe firearm handling, self-defense firearms basics, common malfunctions, and shopping for your first firearm. This course is ideal for first-time shooters or for those looking to refresh their skills. Up to one hour of live-fire training on the range is included.
The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation and is available for delivery in two ways. One option is the traditional, instructor-led course where you will receive direct instruction from an NRA-certified instructor from beginning to end. The other option has two components: a self-study or “eLearning module” which is completed online in your own timeframe and a hands-on practical portion conducted in a classroom and shooting range with an Instructor.
This is a general gun safety class. We will cover:
- Conflict Resolution discussion
- 4 Universal Firearm Safety Rules discussion and firearm handling
- Dry Fire Practice
- This is not a concealed carry class that allows students to get Concealed Carry credentials. Please see the CCDW courses for more details.
