The private class is scheduled on your timetable. This private class is also ideal for those who desire extra attention to detail. Couples, families, and small groups are invited to take advantage of the offering. NRA Basic Pistol and USCCA Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals is a comprehensive course for anyone considering owning or carrying a firearm for self-defense. The course is a complete guide to understanding conflict avoidance and situational awareness; home security and home defense; handgun, shotgun and AR-15 basics; shooting fundamentals; the physiology of violent encounters; the legal aspects of using deadly force (including knowing what to do in the aftermath); and a complete guide on gear, gadgets, and ongoing training.
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday evening course
- All applicable State and Federal laws relating to the ownership, storage, carry, and transportation of a firearm; 2 hours Classroom Recommended a. The Act relating to the ownership, storage, carry and transportation of a firearm
- with emphasis on 430 ILCS 66/10(h) which includes instruction on the appropriate and lawful interaction with law enforcement while transporting or carrying a concealed firearm.

- 720 ILCS 24/1 et. seq. Unlawful Use of Weapons** ** Must define dwelling, aggressor, forcible felony and unlawful use of weapons pursuant to the ILCS.
- Weapon Handling; 1 hour Range Recommended a. Handgun fundamentals b. Handgun concealment c. Live fire qualification instruction d. Live fire qualification with a concealable firearm consisting of minimum of 30 rounds which must include 10 rounds from a distance of 5 yards; 10 rounds from a distance of 7 yards; and 10 rounds from a distance of 10 yards at a B-27 silhouette target approved by the Illinois State Police. NRA Basic Pistol Blended combined with USCCA Self Defense Firearms Basics
Instructor Led Training:
Takes place in a traditional classroom and range environment.
Course topics include gun safety rules, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, pistol selection and storage, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship, and shooting range safety. Additionally, students will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with a NRA Certified Instructor.
Students will use the NRA Guide: Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook ($20.00), take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination, and receive a course completion certificate bearing the signature of the NRA Secretary and your NRA Certified Instructor.

Bring to your class:
Handgun (if you do not own your own you will be provided one for practicing skills and qualifying)
Ammunition is not allowed in the classroom however you will need a minimum of 50 rounds at the range
