What You'll Learn
We are pleased to offer an 8-hour Idaho Enhanced Concealed Weapons Course, from Idaho’s #1 Enhanced Concealed Weapons Training LLC. This comprehensive, one-day course covers firearm laws and legal considerations, enhanced pistol accuracy in urban and rural areas, concealed carry best practices, and essential safety topics to ensure you can carry confidently and responsibly.
Course Curriculum:
- Home Safety & Protection
- Enhanced Pistol Accuracy in Urban and Rural Areas
- Firearm Safety & Proper Handling
- Secure Storage & Holster Selection
- Use of Force & Legal Considerations
- Legal update provided by an Idaho Attorney or Police Officer
Course Details:
The training is held at the Scheels 2nd floor conference room and Blacks Creek Public Shooting Range. The schedule consists of four hours in the classroom (including a working lunch) and four hours on the range. Attendance at both sessions is mandatory to qualify for the Idaho Enhanced Concealed Weapons License (ECWL)
Instructional Team: Our USCCA & NRA-certified instructors, John Proveaux and Carey Englin are retired law enforcement officers with extensive civilian and law enforcement training experience.
Requirements: This course includes the state-required classroom & live-fire training qualification for the Idaho Enhanced Concealed Weapons License (ECWL) and the Oregon Concealed Handgun License (CHL). Please note that firearms and ammunition are required.
Important Notes:
-Participants aged 18-20 will qualify for the Standard CWL, while those 21 and older will qualify for the ECWL.
- No firearms or live ammunition are permitted in the classroom. Please keep your firearm unloaded and secured in your vehicle until instructed otherwise.
- In addition all attendees will receive a Scheels gift card.

Cancellation Policy: Students are required to cancel at least 48 hours in advance of a class date in order to receive a full refund. Classes cancelled less than 48 hours before the class will not be refunded.

Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals is a comprehensive classroom course for anyone considering owning or carrying a firearm for self-defense. If you are new to handguns, this is a great introduction to everything you need to know to start your self-protection journey.
This course is a complete guide to understanding the basics of firearms ownership, safety, and nomenclature, and how it applies to home- or self-defense. After this class, students will feel confident to act as their family’s first line of defense in the event of a home invasion or other critical incident.
Additional Notes from Your Instructor
Rental firearms are available on a limited basis for a nominal fee and must be arranged in advance. Please note the following equipment requirements: - Firearms: No magnums, revolvers, or .22 caliber pistols are allowed. This course is best suited for 9mm semi-automatic pistols. If you only have a .22 or a revolver, please contact your instructor to discuss your options. - Holsters: For safety reasons, appendix, cross-draw, shoulder, and ankle holsters are prohibited. All participants must use a strong-side, belt-secured or inside the waistband holster. If you have training questions or need to reserve a rental firearm, please contact your instructor via email, phone, or text. The range portion of the course will be held at Blacks Creek Public Shooting Range (2420 E Kuna Mora Rd) immediately following the classroom session at SCHEELS.
