What You'll Learn
Viking 6 Tactical — Critical Incident Response Training Stop the Bleed — Hands-On Trauma Care Boot Camp (4 hours) When every second counts, knowing what to do can mean the difference between life and death. This 4-hour, hands-on Stop the Bleed Boot Camp at the American Legion gives you the real-world skills and confidence to act fast and save lives, whether at a motor vehicle crash, a hunting or hiking accident, or as a witness to a violent incident. What this course is A fast-paced, practical workshop where you’ll train like the responder you hope to find. This isn’t a lecture, you’ll get your hands on real gear, practice techniques, and run through realistic scenarios so the techniques become muscle memory. What you’ll learn & practice • Proper tourniquet application (commercial and improvised), fast and effective. • Direct pressure and pressure-dressing techniques for junctional and limb wounds. • Wound packing for deep penetrating injuries. • Field-expedient solutions when equipment is limited. • Prioritizing care and communicating with EMS, how to hand off a patient. • Scenario training: vehicle crashes, remote outdoor injuries, and active-threat aftermath. Why take it This training is for everyone, not just first responders or “gunfighters.” If you want to be the person who steps up and helps when it matters, this course gives you practical, repeatable skills that save lives. Logistics & recommendations • Location: The Gun Store & Gun Shop • Duration: 4 hours — hands-on training • Bring: Comfortable clothing you can move in (short sleeves recommended), closed-toe shoes, and, if you have one, your personal trauma kit or tourniquet. • We provide: Training tourniquets, bandages, mannequins, and supplies for practice. • Outcome: Increased confidence to stop life-threatening bleeding and a certificate of completion to document your training.
