What You'll Learn
Shooting Qualification (LIVE FIRE) Days will be on both January 13th and January 14th AT ANOTHER LOCATION, NOT ON THE 11th! If the range will be closed due to weather, we will reschedule to the closest Tuesday or Wednesday. If you wish to shoot on Tuesday and the weather shuts the range down, you may shoot on the Wednesday (the next day). If the range is shut down for both days, shooting will continue for the next Tuesday and Wednesday and I will text you if weather shuts the range down. Gloves are optional to shoot with.
WELCOME ALL!
PSA FOR ALL STILL FOLLOWING THIS EVENT!
I have contacted TargetMaster (much closer to Bar XIII) and they said we can use their range. Remember, range days are on the Tuesday/Wednesday (13th/14th)
Thank you for being interested in taking the next step to safety for yourself and your family! I am excited to teach you the basics and all the way up to conceal carrying safely.
If you are a FELON or posses a MARIJUANA CARD, you MAY NOT take this class.
PLEASE ARRIVE AT BAR XIII BY 7:45AM TO SIGN CLASS WAIVERS AND GET A SEAT!
Hello! My name is 'Vex'. But for Professional Instruction as a Firearms Instructor during this class, please call me Berton (Bert) Gartrell. I frequent Bar XIII mostly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (you may know me or have even seen me) when my time permits and some other events. I have 3 jobs (this being one of them) and I teach this class professionally.
In this class, I will be teaching Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals. With this 8hr class, you will be shooting 100 rounds of ammunition to qualify for your target. You may bring / purchase 200 rounds if you'd like to shoot again or shoot another handgun. Your target will be a B27 silhouette target. Your target will be a large body sized cardboard target and will be placed at 5yds (15ft) away from you.
PLEASE NOTE!- I will be showing videos in this class that are GRAPHIC and VIOLENT Content that includes Mass Murdering Execution-Style attacks and scenes will be on screen . Trigger Warnings will be said before each video. Those sensitive to these may step out and clear the room/area before I play them the videos. The videos will then be dissected and discussed.
ALL RENTAL HANDGUNS (I OWN) shoot a standard 9mm Luger. Please purchase 9mm Luger FMJ Ammunition. This ammunition must be purchased at the range we are shooting at. My personal handguns are used in competition shooting, I can guarantee and promise you that they are sighted in properly and cleaned after shooting to ensure proper safety and proper function for the use of students or myself.
If you are bringing your own Firearm, you will be expected to know how to fix any malfunctions it has. I will not be responsible for fixing any malfunctions you have on your personal firearm. If you have a malfunction with your firearm and do not know how to fix it, you MUST rent my firearm to finish your course of firing. Delaware requires that you shoot 100 rounds of ammunition, NO exceptions! The passing score is 80/100.
If you are bringing your own firearm and ammunition, you are still required to bring 100 rounds of that ammunition.
Eye Protection and Ear Plugs are a MUST! If you wear prescription glasses, those are acceptable. NO exceptions! Safety is a MUST and WILL always be checked before handling/shooting any firearms. You may also bring your own ear protection too.
Handgun rentals will be $20 (Cash). Handgun rental options are listed below.

Please write your legal first and last name on the sheets provided on the day of class of which day you wish to shoot on. If you are renting a firearm from me, please write which handgun you are wishing to rent (GLK, SS, CNK) next to your name. I will have all 3 firearms in class UNLOADED for you to handle and make sure that's the firearm you wish to rent. You must purchase the ammunition at the range if you are renting from me, NO EXCEPTIONS! If you are bringing your own firearm write (OWN).
