Michael Hobbs

Michael is a twenty-year military veteran who served in the United States Air Force and Air National Guard from 1991 to 2011. Over his military tenure Michael served in multiple career fields all of which revolved around the retrieval, escort and security of military personnel, base security, the security of equipment, and aircraft, and dignitary escort. After his military service, Michael relocated to Virginia where he transitioned into an emergency first responder role as an EMT, and then a civilian law enforcement officer with the Albemarle County Police Department. For the next 10 years Michael was trained and served in multiple positions to include Patrol Officer, SWAT, Executive Security, Crisis Negotiator, Medical Trainer, Field Training Officer, Academy Instructor, Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor and head CPR / First Aid instructor for the department. Over this period of time, Michael received federal training in fields such as FBI Hostage Negotiation, Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings Train the Trainer, and Active Threat Response. He was also trained in Crisis/Intervention Response, Stress Management, De-escalation, Conflict Resolution and other techniques for dealing with individuals in a mental health crisis. In 2015 Michael relocated to Connecticut and took on a contracting position with the Office of Personnel Management, then later the Department of Homeland Security as a Federal Investigator. While there, Michael conducted fraud and background investigations, he also served as an Active Threat Instructor, and Basic Life Support Instructor. In 2021 Michael took a role as the Civilian Security Director of the US Coast Guard Academy where he served in a personnel management, and emergency response role. Michael also continued to instruct in law enforcement and security retention, CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogen Techniques. While serving in this role, Michael worked with the Coast Guard Academy military command and advised in multiple campus Emergency planning table tops. In 2023, Michael left the US Coast Guard Academy with the dream of forming a highly professional and expertly trained security company. Overwatch Security Resources was formed and CT State Licensed in 2024. Michael serves as the owner, and CEO of Overwatch Security Resources, and currently holds multiple state and national certifications and licenses in the law enforcement, security, medical, and investigation fields.
