What You'll Learn
This class meets the new state requirements for a refresher course required to renew your permit under the law C.R.S. 18-12-202.5. Instructors are verified instructors through Adams County. Students will revisit topics including safe gun handling, storage , defensive shooting fundamentals and the legal use of force. You will take a written exam and pass a live fire exam as well.
Cancellation Policy: Students are required to cancel at least 48 hours in advance of a class date in order to receive a full refund. Classes cancelled less than 48 hours before the class will not be refunded.

Over 1 million students have taken the U.S. Concealed Carry Association’s course offerings across the nation. Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals is a comprehensive classroom course for anyone considering owning or carrying a firearm for self-defense. If you are new to handguns, this is a great introduction to everything you need to know to start your self-protection journey.
This course is a complete guide to understanding the basics of firearms ownership, safety, and nomenclature, and how it applies to home- or self-defense. After this class, students will feel confident to act as their family’s first line of defense in the event of a home invasion or other critical incident.
Additional Notes from Your Instructor
The live shooting portion will take roughly an hour, but will be based on your experience level. You are able to schedule an appointment to shoot at a later date if you desire. Please bring: your own eye and ear protection - Colorado Clays has eye/ear protection if needed a handgun in a case at least 2 magazines if possible (or a combination of magazines to hold 15 rounds) ammunition to the range (75 rounds - no steel cased, jacketed or core ammo) - Colorado Clays has ammo for sale if needed Shooting live ammunition is required for a certificate for this class. You will receive your certificate after we shoot. We will start with a review of the fundamentals - roughly 20 minutes. Once you are comfortable with the fundamentals we will move on to the scored course of fire. Please dress for the weather as the range is covered but not enclosed. Wear closed-toe shoes and a high-necked shirt.
