The Bearded Monkey Tactical Level 2 Defensive Pistol Course is designed for responsibly armed citizens, concealed carry permit holders, law enforcement professionals, and experienced shooters who want to build real-world defensive handgun skills beyond basic firearms training.
This fast-paced, hands-on course emphasizes accuracy, speed, decision-making, and defensive gun handling under realistic conditions. Students will develop confidence through structured drills that challenge both marksmanship and critical thinking while maintaining a relentless focus on firearms safety.
Unlike traditional target shooting classes, this course prepares you for defensive encounters by teaching practical techniques that can be applied when seconds matter.
Course Highlights
Throughout this advanced defensive pistol course, students will learn and refine:
Efficient draw stroke from the holster Defensive accuracy at multiple distances Emergency and tactical reloads Malfunction recognition and immediate action drills Shooting while moving Use of cover and concealment Multiple-target engagement Strong-hand and support-hand shooting Target transitions Defensive movement techniques Situational awareness and threat assessment Performance under time pressure Defensive shooting standards and qualification drills
Students will be coached throughout the day by an experienced law enforcement firearms instructor, receiving individualized feedback designed to improve both speed and consistency.

Students should already possess safe firearm handling skills and be comfortable drawing from a holster before attending.
Equipment Required
Students should bring:
Reliable semi-automatic handgun Quality outside-the-waistband or appendix holster designed for their firearm Minimum of three magazines Magazine carrier Sturdy belt Eye and ear protection Weather-appropriate clothing Closed-toe shoes Approximately 300 rounds of factory ammunition Water, snacks, and a willingness to learn
Cancellation Policy: Students are required to cancel at least 48 hours in advance of a class date in order to receive a full refund. Classes cancelled less than 48 hours before the class will not be refunded.
What We'll Teach
Defensive Shooting Fundamentals
This lesson will continue with the basics, including a very visual overview of what we call the “building blocks” or the fundamentals for accurate and safe shooting. Within this lesson, Michael Martin will explain the differences between the skills required for being a good “marksman” at the range, and the skills that might be required to save your life if you are ever the subject of a violent attack.
Additional Notes from Your Instructor
This is a 20% off rate for the class. One on one is typically 300 dollars for the four hour class. This class will be $240 for the four hour block.
