My Biography
I'm Ben Griffin, founder of Steady Ground Training LLC. After recognizing that many concealed carry courses offered little to no live fire training, I founded Steady Ground Training LLC to provide students with hands on classroom and range instruction. My goal is to ensure every attendee leaves with the practical knowledge, safe shooting fundamentals, and confidence to safely own, carry, and use a firearm.
I am a USCCA Certified and NRA Certified Instructor with over 25 years of firearm experience. My passion for safety began during my time serving as a volunteer firefighter and EMT. Those experiences have strengthened my commitment to helping others, responsibility, and service; values that I bring into every class I teach. In my free time, I enjoy off-roading in my Jeep, spending time with my family, and hunting.

This class will include live fire at the range. Please bring your handgun (leave in vehicle) 100 rounds of target ammo, eye and hearing protection.
If you do not have a handgun please reach out.
The range is on the same property so no extra travel is required.
Receive 1 on 1 instruction. Firearm safety fundamentals, safe firearm handling, loading and unloading procedures, malfunction clearing, basic firearm cleaning and maintenance, and live fire instruction. This class is designed to build confidence, accuracy, and safe firearm handling skills. This is a 2 HR minimum.
Callao Brewing Company offers a selection of 15+ beers in addition to non-alcoholic options such as homemade root beer and ginger ale. On the night of this class they will offer a special on their homemade brick oven pizzas- buy one get one half off! Come out and learn about home defense and enjoy some delicious pizza!
We will cover the following
*Firearm safety rules & safe handling
- Understanding and recognizing malfunctions
- Grip and stance
- Improving groups
- Dummy-round drills
- Tap-rack drills
- Approximately 1½ hours of live-fire range instruction
- Individual coaching and corrections
- Please bring 200 rounds of target ammo, and an extra magazine. $30 discount for returning students
This program is broken up into 9 1 hour classes that will be held twice a month.
