PPP - PRACTICAL PISTOL PROFICIENCY

8-hours of practical and live-fire range training. This baseline training will build comfort in safe handling, holstering, loading, unloading, reloading, clearing a Type 1 or Type 2 malfunction, and accurately engaging targets. This course is the “gatekeeper” course for our advancing pistol and specialty pistol courses, and is a prerequisite for most. 100 rounds (Outside the waistband, OWB, holsters only). No sub-compact or itty bitty guns for this class. If you do not yet have a firearm or the required gear for the class, we offer complete loaner kits at no cost. Included is a Glock pistol, model is based on fit factors. See required and prohibited items in the notes below.

PREREQUISITE: Attendee must possess a current CFP or be eligible to obtain one (go to Utah CFP website, www.utah.gov, to determine eligibility), or waiver by SRW Staff.

Prohibited Items: Serpa and Serpa-style holsters, or any holster design that uses the trigger finger to release the retention device. Sig Sauer P320 pistols and all variant models, including any firearm built on the P320 platform. Steel or steel-jacketed ammunition, due to range safety and backstop restrictions.

If you have problems getting ammunition for the course, it will be available on the range, email us for ammo prices.

If you do not have a preferred handgun for concealed carry, or specific equipment for the training, DON’T go out and buy without talking to us first about what to buy and where to buy it. We also have complete range kits for you to use for the training AT NO COST.
