The opportunity to become an Instructor brings with it a very serious obligation to commit to safely practice and maintain high standards which in the future you will impart to your students. Our experience with candidates has shown that there is a need for the opportunity to demonstrate shooting proficiency before classes start. We have observed a failure rate of 25-30% in the Shooting Range Qualification Test. This component is 50% of the requirement to become a certified instructor and the inability to meet this standard will prevent a candidate from obtaining Training certification.
The Shooting Range Qualification Test is part of the 2-day curriculum and the expectation is that candidates are practicing prior to class and prepared beforehand to successfully meet the qualifications.
Our experience has shown that there is a need for some candidates to practice proficiency before the Range Qualification Test is administered. We understand that performing in a new environment can be intimidating. South Atlanta Firearms Training is offering time slots for Pre-Qualification consultations. We will offer a 3-hour window Friday prior to the course beginning to consult with our certified Trainers and Training Counselors (Range Time Only)

Much like a personal protection plan a home defense plan is the foundation for personal security.
There are five fundamentals of home defense:
EVADE: How to avoid the threat or escape the threat.
ARM: Arm yourself with a defensive tool, whether that be a firearm or other option.
BARRICADE: Barricade yourself from the direction of movement or attack.
CONTACT: Contact the authorities and be prepared to provide, where, what, that there is an intruder, your description, whether you are armed, and if possible a description of the intruder.
COUNTER: Engaging the threat if necessary.
These five fundamentals of home defense are the foundation for creating your home defense plan in the event an intruder attempts or actually makes entry into your home. Of course we will spend more time breaking down each category. If you think this information is valuable to your home defense plan or a topic you would like to learn more about, check out other firearm training courses being offered by a South Atlanta Firearms Training.
