In this introduction module, our instructor introduces students to the basics of handgun safety, including how to safely clear (unload) a semi-automatic pistol. We go on to explain and demonstrate the seven basic fundamentals for safe and accurate shooting. The lesson is rounded out by taking those basics, and putting them into practice both in the classroom and on the shooting range. This lesson will act as a building block as the student progresses to Women’s Intermediate Pistol.
In this module, our instructor expands on the building blocks outlined in Women’s Basic Pistol, with a detailed and visual explanation of the differences, the pros, and the cons of semi-automatics and revolvers; and even how these firearms can malfunction (and the procedures for correcting those malfunctions). We then introduces the student to holster options for concealed carry, and what every woman (and man) should know about establishing boundaries using the “color codes of awareness.” This lesson is summarized with a number of on and off the range exercises, allowing the student to put these intermediate skills to practice
In the final module of the series, our instructor introduces the student to a number of advanced topics, skills and drills. Topics include a detailed explanation of what students should know avoiding, escaping, and defending against an attacker, and even what the student should know about their obligations under the law when it comes to the legal right to use force. We then explain and demonstrates a number of methods of drawing a firearm including from a holster or from a handbag. Three different types of reload methods are demonstrated, and the student is introduced to what they should expect, and what they should know when visiting a live fire range for the first time, including a number of important range commands. This lesson is also concluded with a number of on and off the range drills, including learning how to use cover and concealment, and even how to shoot on the move.

Developing a personal & home protection plan is a key component of not only preparing for how we should (or might) react if confronted by a violent crime, but also how we might avoid violent crime in the first place. Within this lesson, our instructor explains that developing a protection plan is about much more than becoming proficient with a firearm or writing up a home invasion plan. It’s a plan that must encompass awareness, avoidance, and preparation, so that we’re less likely to find ourselves in a situation where we have no other option than to use our firearm, rather than more likely.

If you and friends or family were preparing to embark on a hunting trip or a trip to the local gun range, what would your response be if I asked you, “What’s the most likely emergency situation you might have to deal with?” If you said, “A gunshot wound,” you might be surprised to find out that in the United States, you are 1,110 times more likely to find yourself dealing with a stroke, 500 times more likely to find yourself dealing with a cardiac arrest, and tens of thousands of times more likely to find yourself dealing with a diabetic emergency, than you are to find yourself dealing with a gunshot injury. While you should also know how to deal with a gunshot injury this lesson will deal with the medical emergencies mentioned above, and many others.
Countering the Mass Shooter Threat Online, opens with a look at the data in a way that has never been explored before. Part One begins with a high level summary of many of those data points, including key definitions, data trends of these events, a breakdown on where these events are occurring, and even a detailed look at police response time to these shootings. Part One also analyzes what factors affected the outcome at mass shootings. For example, after every mass shooting and in particular, after the Newtown shooting at Sandy Hook elementary, there was a deafening cry by gun control advocates to ban certain classes of firearms and to reduce the number of rounds that could be stored in magazines, driven by the belief that those changes would reduce the number of dead at mass shootings, or even eliminate them all together. In addition to understanding whether those arguments were right or wrong, Part One also analyzes whether these shooters really do gravitate toward gun-free zones; and, how the response of potential victims affected the outcome. Part One closes with a detailed analysis of the solutions being proposed by gun control advocates to determine whether the data indicated that those solutions would work, or not work. Topics explored in Part One include: -Mass shootings by the numbers. - Would reducing magazine capacity or banning AR-15s work? - Do gun-free zones help or hurt? - Does victim response make a difference? - What are universal background checks, and would they end mass shootings? - What about no fly lists and terror watch lists?
