My name is Christian Rios CEO/Owner of Onyx Defense Academy LLC. I am a Firearms Instructor certified with the United States Concealed Carry Association, as well as The North Carolina Department of Justice. I teach courses such as Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals, Basic Handgun, Private Firearms Instruction, Etc.

This is the USCCA Basic Handgun Course. In this course you will be familiarized with handgun safety, storage, handling, as well as the mechanics of different styles of handguns. This course does not require you to bring your own handgun. No student firearms are allowed in the classroom, but students will handle a real handgun provided by your instructor. This course is perfect for those who have never held a handgun before, those who are interested in learning about handguns before or even after they have purchased one, as well as those who would just like to know more about handguns in general.

One Day Concealed Carry Course Written Exam Shooting Qualification

Join us for the Basic Handgun Cleaning Class at Onyx Defense Academy — a hands-on course designed to teach responsible gun owners how to properly clean and maintain their firearms. This class covers both semi-automatic pistols and revolvers, ensuring you're confident in caring for the most common types of handguns.

This class is designed for individuals who own a firearm and would like a refresher or those who just want a clear understanding of North Carolina gun laws and use of force. Topics include: Where you can and cannot carry Interaction with law enforcement Use of force and self-defense laws Castle Doctrine and Stand Your Ground This is NOT a North Carolina Concealed Carry course and does NOT provide certification. Stay informed. Carry responsibly.
