Course Description:
Background:
Motivated by the 2012 tragedy in Sandy Hook and multiple tragedies that have occurred in the ensuing years, what has become known as the Hartford Consensus was convened to bring together leaders from law enforcement, the federal government, and the medical community to improve survivability from manmade or natural mass casualty events. The resulting injuries from these events generally present with severe bleeding which, if left unattended, can result in death. The participants of the Hartford Consensus concluded that by providing first responders (law enforcement) and civilian bystanders the skills and basic tools to stop uncontrolled bleeding in an emergency situation, lives would be saved. The first responder program has received very good response and is widely being used across the country. The next step is to focus on needs of civilian bystanders.
Need:
Civilians need basic training in Bleeding Control principles so they are able to provide immediate, frontline aid until first responders are able to take over care of an injured person. Due to many situations, there may be a delay between the time of injury and the time a first responder is on the scene. Without civilian intervention in these circumstances, preventable deaths will occur.
Mission/Objective:
The American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma is leading the effort to save lives by teaching the civilian population to provide vital initial response to stop uncontrolled bleeding in emergency situations. This will be accomplished by the development of a comprehensive and sustainable bleeding control education and information program targeted to civilians that will inform, educate and empower the 300+million citizens of the United States. Every Day Carry + VEHICLE!
This course will push your concealed carry weapon manipulations past simply the qualification of a CCW. Unfortunately, far too often, people train outside of the situations of daily life with a handgun. This course is designed to take your day of training and apply everyday life.
The day will start with demonstrating proficiency with the handgun. This will consist of drills from the holster under the stressors of both time and accuracy.
The class will continue into a move and shoot portion that focuses not only on the use of the weapon but the use of the space around you. You may have heard of "getting off the x"... We are going to get off the x, assess the environment and prepare for re-engagement all while being in total control of the handgun.
The final portion of this course will involve an environment you put yourself in every single day... a vehicle. We will train not only to shoot from the vehicle but also how to manipulate the space outside of the vehicle to gain the best cover or concealment possible.
It will be a day filled with lots of fun pushing the boundaries of a "flat range" and definitely some learning will take place.
*Please note that while this class is designed to be from concealed; if you would like to participate and do not have a concealment plan you will be welcomed to participate.

Location: Range 21:31 - Buckeye, Arizona
Dates: April 18–19, 2026
Time: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Both Days)
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This 2-Day AR-15 Instructor Development Course (IDC) is purpose-built for certified firearms instructors who want to elevate their rifle instruction beyond simply “running drills.”
This course is not about checking a box.
It is about building instructors who can teach, diagnose, coach, and manage a live-fire rifle program with confidence and authority.
Drawing from Guardian’s Rifleman and Defensive Carbine curriculum, this IDC blends technical rifle proficiency, adult-learning principles, and real-world range management into a performance-based instructor course.
You will spend time both on the gun and on the line as the instructor, learning how to:
Teach AR-15 fundamentals clearly and efficiently Diagnose shooter vs equipment problems in real time Manage cognitive load and decision-making under pressure Safely run movement, manipulation, and transition drills Communicate effectively with mixed-experience students Lead a firing line with professionalism and command presence A significant portion of this course is teach-back driven. Each instructor candidate will plan and deliver live-fire instruction, run shooters, correct errors, and demonstrate the ability to safely and effectively teach rifle material—not just perform it.
Always a Student. Sometimes a Teacher. This course develops your ability to be both. TOPICS COVERED Instructor roles, responsibilities, and range authority AR-15 system function, maintenance, and diagnostics (instructor depth) Zeroing procedures and zero data management Positional shooting (standing, kneeling, prone) Reloads and malfunction clearances (teaching vs testing) Cognitive processing and decision-making drills Shooting on the move Rifle-to-pistol transitions Team drills and movement considerations Instructor communication, coaching cues, and safety management Live-fire instructor teach-backs with evaluation and feedback WHO SHOULD ATTEND Current firearms instructors (USCCA, NRA, NRA LE, LE/Mil, or equivalent) Instructors who teach—or plan to teach—AR-15 or carbine courses Coaches looking to improve diagnostics, delivery, and class control Instructors seeking professional development rather than a shooting class MINIMUM GEAR REQUIREMENTS Rifle
AR-15 style rifle (duty-grade recommended) Sling Minimum 3 rifle magazines 600 rounds rifle ammunition (minimum for the course) No bi-metal or green tip ammunition (steel targets) Pistol
Reliable pistol Minimum 3 pistol magazines Safe, quality holster 100 rounds pistol ammunition (minimum) Support Gear

Course Overview
The Tactical Shooting Instructor School is intended for the experienced and previously trained and/or certified law enforcement firearm instructor looking to take his/her skills and agency's training programs to the next level.
Basic MOI or "Method of Instruction" related lessons are not included in this school. This school is geared toward providing the law enforcement firearm instructor with the ability to create and implement sophisticated and practical agency-specific firearm training programs.
Utilizing the NRA's "Street to Range" concept of training, the law enforcement firearm instructor will also come away with ideas and additional tools to provide their agency personnel with additional safe, realistic and tactically sound training on a realistic law enforcement firearm training budget. Students will spend five days engaged in thoughtful and provocative discussion, while addressing and responding to various range-run training scenarios utilizing their duty pistol and rifle. In addition to 100 percent daily attendance, there is a 50-question written test and 50-round rifle/pistol qualification course of fire that must be passed to successfully complete this course. Student instructors MUST possess strong firearm handling skills PRIOR to attending this school.
The program concentrates on advanced shooting skills, use of the "safety circle" concept, pivoting and turning to fire, movement while firing, unconventional shooting positions, two-man patrol tactics, use of the back-up and off-duty pistol, how to introduce cost-effective decision-making training and stress inoculation into your programs, as well as reduced-light training with the pistol and rifle.
Those considering attending this course must have a good working knowledge of ALL the firearms he/she will be using during this school and must have successfully completed a recognized law enforcement firearm instructor school that included general methods of instruction, AND have successfully completed a basic law enforcement or military rifle operator course.
THIS is not a beginners school, and those attending who demonstrate a lack of basic handling skills with any of their firearms WILL be asked to leave. There will be no exceptions! Some examples of acceptable previous firearm instructor training are:

Participants must hold at least one of the following:
• NRA Instructor Certification • USCCA Instructor Certification • POST Firearms Instructor Certification • Law Enforcement Firearms or Defensive Tactics Instructor designation • Equivalent recognized instructor credential
This is not an entry-level course.
All participants are expected to have foundational knowledge of use of force law and instructional methodology.
Enrollment is limited to 12 instructors.
Course Overview
Have you ever pressure tested your own use of force decision-making under realistic stress and then articulated it under scrutiny?
This is not a basic simulator class.
This is instructor development.
Guardian Advanced Use of Force Instructor Development is a two-day immersive program designed for firearms and defensive tactics instructors serving both armed citizens and law enforcement personnel.
This course integrates:
• United States Supreme Court case law including Graham v. Connor and Tennessee v. Garner • Arizona Revised Statutes Title 13 Chapter 4 governing self-defense and justification • Civilian criminal exposure and wrongful death litigation considerations • Federal civil rights exposure under 42 U.S.C. 1983 • Direct and vicarious liability principles for instructors and agencies • Force Science based human performance principles • Priming and perceptual influence • Structured articulation methodology • Courtroom survivability considerations
For civilian instructors, this course addresses the realities of self-defense justification, prosecutorial review, civil litigation, and the importance of training students to articulate reasonable belief and immediate necessity under state law.
For law enforcement instructors, this course reinforces constitutional standards, objective reasonableness analysis, and the scrutiny applied in civil rights litigation and administrative review.
At the core of this program is the groundbreaking and innovative use of our state of the art Ti Training Simulator. This is not passive scenario exposure. It is structured, instructor-led immersion where legal standards, priming influences, and human performance factors are deliberately manipulated, evaluated, and debriefed in real time.
Participants will analyze and facilitate use of force scenarios from both civilian and law enforcement perspectives within a controlled, evaluative environment that mirrors real-world cognitive demands.
This program is taught by a Force Science Certified Analyst, NRA Law Enforcement Staff Instructor, and qualified expert witness in use of force and firearms related matters.
Instructor and Student Liability Considerations Use of force training carries responsibility.
Instructors face potential direct liability for negligent instruction, improper scenario design, or failure to teach legally sound principles.
Agencies and training organizations may face vicarious liability when training practices contribute to foreseeable misuse of force. This course addresses:
• Direct liability exposure for individual officers/persons • Vicarious liability for agencies and organizations • Foreseeability and negligent training claims • The importance of defensible lesson plans and structured debriefs • How priming, bias, and poor articulation can increase exposure Training is not just about performance. It is about responsibility. What Makes This Different
Most simulator courses focus on stress and reaction.
This course uses the Ti Simulator in an innovative, instructor development format to:
• Intentionally manipulate priming variables • Compare civilian self-defense standards and law enforcement constitutional standards side by side • Examine reasonable belief versus objective reasonableness • Expose articulation weaknesses under pressure • Identify bias in real time • Address liability implications of training methodology • Train instructors to control scenario influence, not just run it
You will not simply run scenarios.
You will:
• Facilitate scenarios • Conduct structured debriefs • Identify applicable legal standards in real time • Evaluate articulation under both civilian and LE frameworks • Analyze bias and priming • Examine liability exposure implications • Develop legally grounded training exercises
This is a professional laboratory for decision making under stress and defensible instruction.
Limited Enrollment
Enrollment is limited to 12 certified instructor candidates to ensure high-level interaction, individual feedback, and meaningful simulator immersion.
This is a focused, instructor development environment.
