Our Basic Handgun Class covers everything you will need to know about how to safely handle, use, and maintain your handgun. This class covers many topics including:

How handguns work Selecting a handgun Ammunition and how it works Basic firearm safety How to hold and shoot a handgun Marksmanship vs. Defensive shooting Malfunctions and how to clear them How to maintain your handgun Dryfire training Common handgun gear and accessories

So you just bought your first modern sporting rifle…now what? Our Basic Rifle class is designed for folks just like you that want to learn the ins and outs of the most common platforms on the market today. Similar in structure to our Basic Handgun class, Basic Rifle will teach you to care for, and properly utilize your new firearm.

With the wide array of products on the market, trying to find the right accessories for your firearm is often overwhelming at best. Whether you are a new gun owner, or just want to get some input on what items you might be missing in your setup; this class will give you some insight into what is right for you. In this class, we will discuss the many holster options on the market, along with different lights, lasers, and sights to help you develop the ideal setup for your gun. While we focus largely on items for Every Day Carry (EDC), we will also discuss options for defensive rifles and shotguns. As an added bonus not offered by many other schools, we will also give you a chance to try out some options that we have on hand to help you get a better idea what will work best for you.

Topics we instruct on are basic weapon manipulation, firearm safety, home defense, concealed carry, advanced rifle and pistol shooting, low-light shooting, CQB (Close Quarter Battle), and firearm selection.

Private range instruction is based upon your training needs. Please contact Foresight Defense in order to discuss what skill set(s) you would like to work on. Training is done at your pace, and on your schedule. Options available are basic through advanced handgun, rifle, and shotgun; speed shooting; self-defense; and home defense.

Our practical handgun class is designed to familiarize beginners with their handgun and get them comfortable training for defensive situations at the intermediate level. We start by reenforcing the basic fundamentals of firearms safety and handling, and then progress through intermediate skills applicable to defensive handgun use.

During this class you will learn the four universal firearm safety rules, proper grip and stance, malfunction clearing, basic marksmanship/defensive accuracy, concepts for recoil control, how to draw from a holster, reloading basics, and transitioning between targets.

This is not your typical shooting class! Our Tactical Handgun Class is designed to bring students from the static drills normally performed on the flat range into the dynamic, 3-dimentional style of shooting used in a real defensive scenario. This class includes lots of movement, and is intended to teach situational awareness and tactical decision-making in addition to new shooting skills. Students will be put through a number of physical exercises throughout the session in order to add an element of stress to make the training more realistic. These exercises are meant only to raise the heart and breathing rate of the student, not to provoke mental stress or fear of any kind.

Skills and techniques taught will include, drawing from a holster (refresher), recoil control (refresher), one hand/off hand shooting, engaging at contact distance, target transitions, shooting from unconventional positions, shooting on the move, utilizing cover/concealment, speed and tactical reloads, and tactical decision making.

The application for this class is what you make it. Students are permitted to utilize standard concealed carry gear or a full competition/battle belt setup. All concepts will equally apply to concealed carry and true 2A scenarios.

Holster Requirements: All holsters must be belt mounted (drop-legs are ok) and must retain the firearm while running or performing other rigorous exercise. Cross-draw holsters are not permitted. Kydex/plastic holsters are highly recommended for all holsters, but are required for inside-the-waistband models. Failure to bring a suitable holster may result in the student being dismissed from class for safety reasons.

Note* Long pants are highly recommended. No low-cut/plunging neckline shirts permitted. This is for your safety, and the safety of those around you.

Note** Self defense situations are just as unpredictable as the weather in Wisconsin. We will be training at an outdoor range, so please be prepared for changes in weather and dress appropriately for the conditions. Sunscreen, sweatshirts, bug spray, and/or rain gear are recommended. Class will only be canceled/rescheduled due to severe weather (i.e. tornados, thunderstorms, hail, etc).

Note*** Our focus is preparing students for defensive situations. Therefore we will be using USPSA-style, human silhouette targets. Discussion and target scoring will be focused around stopping a threat.

Gunfighter 1 is the first installment of our tactical civilian training. It is a combined rifle and pistol class teaching advanced shooting and movement techniques to the truly dedicated shooter. The goal is for students to gain a fundamental understanding of the principles necessary to operate, and survive in, a chaotic and hostile environment. This is not a self-defense class, nor is it intended to promote the idea of violence. Rather the idea is to help prepare those students who are truly 2A focused for the worst possible scenario.

In this class you will learn ammunition management, weapon transitions, tactical decision making, principles of target identification, shooting on the move, and shooting from unconventional positions.

In this class you will implement principles of recoil control, target transitions, marksmanship and defensive accuracy, speed and tactical reloads, and SITUATIONAL AWARENESS!!!

Warning: If you are unfamiliar with the above-mentioned principles, consider signing up for our Tactical Handgun class first. If you arrive to class without a basic understanding of these principles, or demonstrate poor firearm safety techniques, you will be dismissed from class. This is for the safety of both our students and staff.

Battle/competition belts and plate carriers/chest rigs recommended, but not required.

Please contact your instructor to discuss what topics you wish to cover during your session.

Our concealed carry class is designed to teach you everything you need to know in order to get and carry safely with your concealed carry permit. The class covers developing a personal protection plan, basic handgun terminology and handling, rules governing a legal use of force, violent encounters and their aftermath, state and federal laws, and a concealed carry gear summary. Upon completion of the class, students will be provided with a Wisconsin conceal carry application permit application and a proof-of-training certificate. Students do not need, and are encouraged not to bring, a firearm to class. This is a lecture only class.
