Real estate agents face a high risk of violent encounters in the workplace, more so than many other professions. This course was designed specifically to help real estate agents identify and mitigate these risks.
This course will cover: How to identify job-related activities that put agents at risk of an attack.
Situational Awareness: Teach students the finer points of tuning into their environment, helping them avoid a potentially violent encounter.
Commonly used cell phone safety features and apps that can be used to keep agents safe.
Legal use-of-force: What criteria must be met before an agent can use reasonable or deadly force – and the consequences that might follow.
Defensive Options: Armed, unarmed and less lethal.
At its most basic level, a personal and home-protection plan is designed to help keep you physically, legally, financially and morally safe. Your ultimate goal should be to avoid violent encounters in the first place by developing an acute awareness of your surroundings and by making intelligent decisions about your actions, behaviors and precautions.

Learn the key concepts that will help you build your defensive shooting practice, and develop the skills you need to win the fight for your life.
As of July 1st, 2021 Iowans no longer need a permit to carry to in order to bear arms outside the home. We here at Davenport Guns oppose any and all infringements to the right of the People to keep and bear arms. We also understand that carrying a firearm in public is not to be taken lightly, and is an activity to which a lot of accountability is attached.
What you don’t know CAN harm you.
Having the right mindset and “soft-skills” to stay out of danger is critical, and if a fight is forced upon you, making rapid and correct force application decisions will be the difference not only between life and death, but freedom and a prison cell.
Understanding the legal landscape regarding the carrying of firearms and the use of force in defense of self or others is as important as having the gun, and knowing how to use it.
In this brief, free, mini-class you will learn about:
-The implications of being armed in public
-Staying safe by avoiding danger
-Pre-threat indicators
-De-escalation
-Using force
-Seeking further training
Real World Defensive Shooting Level 1 is an introductory course covering the technical competencies needed to safely and responsibly engage in defensive pistol training. In order to understand when you are justified to use force, and what level of force you are justified to use, you need state-specific, detailed information on use of force law and surrounding concepts.
You carry a gun so that you can prevent a violent criminal from taking you away from your family, the criminal justice system can deprive your family of your continued support just as readily. In order to be an effective, responsible armed citizen, you must have a robust understanding of the complexities of use of force law and how it is applied to real people, in real life.
This 5-hour course is a deep-dive into the elements of legal self defense as they apply to Iowa law, includes video analyses of real use of force encounters, examples, scenarios, and more. The instructor holds multiple certifications and teaching credentials for coursework covering use of force including The Law of Self Defense Instructor Program, The Complete Combatant, Rangemaster, USCCA and NRA.
Attendees of the course will receive a free copy of Law of Self Defense Principles by Attorney Andrew Branca, a $24.95 value!
