In this class, you’ll review an analysis of data gathered from 48 mass shootings that have occurred since Columbine, to determine what can be learned from these tragedies, including whether a reduction in magazine capacity or the banning of any class of firearm would have changed the outcome. You'll also learn whether “gun-free” zones figure into the planning of these mass murderers; whether victim response at any mass shooting has made a difference; and whether “universal background checks” or other proposals by gun control advocates stand a chance of stemming the current trajectory of these shootings. This course summarizes this data with a comprehensive plan designed to eliminate the scourge of these shooters once and for all.

Basic Pistol Acquaintance Class with simulated live fire! Are you looking for a Basic Pistol class but can’t find or afford ammo due to the ammo shortage? Most pistol classes require 100+ round of ammunition to take a live fire course. Right now, a box of 9mm ammunition online costs about $60 for a box of 50 rounds, so you’re looking at over $100 just for ammo! CTS Arms is offering what we call a Basic Pistol Acquaintance Course. This is a basic pistol course but instead of having a live fire portion, we use recoil operated simulator guns that have recoil so the feel of shooting a gun is still there but without the current high cost of ammunition. Have you recently purchased your first gun and want to know how to operate it? Bring it and we will show you how to load operate and unload it specifically. Class is 3 hours Course Includes: Firearm Safety Ammunition knowledge Firearm Knowledge Shooting Fundamentals Simulated Live fire Cost: $75

Unlike the other basic courses, the Personal Protection course covers defensive shooting. Self-defense is a topic somewhat distinct from the regular diet of shooting fundamentals, it can cover mindset, legal issues, decision-making under pressure, and planning for the worst. The Basic Personal Protection in the Home course is designed around the use of the defensive pistol.
Although the course can be completed as quickly as eight hours, the amount of information presented, and the probability of intensive question and answer sessions on the included topics, makes it likely that the course will take longer.
Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Personal Protection in the Home handbook and intensive lessons on basics of defensive shooting, issues of self-defense, and other strategies for protecting the home and family.
Course Goal
“To develop in the students the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and to provide information on the law-abiding citizen's right to self-defense.” —NRA Basic Personal Protection in the Home Course Lesson Plans
