What You'll Learn
A combination of Electronic Module Learning led by Michael Martin, author of Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals, and the lead USCCA Training Counselor will review materials provided in the Instructor Toolkit, identify important elements within the USCCA curriculum and present tips to maximize the use of multimedia materials. Students will learn common instructor mistakes and how to avoid them, and how to use PowerPoint to integrate the USCCA curriculum into their lessons. The course will also touch upon proper business and financial management.
Students will be graded on their ability to present course materials, a written test, and a live fire qualification (8 inch circular target)
Students will receive the course agenda, a list of items to bring, and further information via email prior to the start date.
Once the course is completed the certified instructor will be authorized to teach the following courses along with authorization to attain additional accreditations (Women's Handgun and Self-Defense, Defensive Shooting, etc.):
USCCA Concealed Carry Course (CCW/Permit to Carry) USCCA Home Defense Classes USCCA Defensive Firearm Basics/Introductory courses
Cancellation Policy: Students are required to cancel at least 48 hours in advance of a class date in order to receive a full refund. Classes cancelled less than 48 hours before the class will not be refunded
What We'll Teach
Concealed Carry & Home Defense Fundamentals - Certified Instructor
Upon successfully completing this course, you will become a USCCA Certified Instructor uniquely authorized to teach the USCCA course, Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals.
This course has become the nation’s leading curriculum for law-abiding Americans seeking to obtain their concealed carry permit. When it comes to firearms fundamentals and concealed carry and home defense concepts, you will provide your students with high-quality material and help them understand the ‘why’ behind training concepts.
Class Preparation: You must complete the corresponding online learning course. (Automatically sent to you upon registering for the class.)
Day 1: you’ll be taught by a USCCA Training Counselor on a number of valuable topics including:
- Top ten instructor mistakes and how to avoid them
- Teaching best practices
- Running a safe live fire range
Day 2: You’ll have a chance to:
- Demonstrate your knowledge of the USCCA training material through seven short presentations to a group of your peers
- Run a live fire range, guiding your peers through the safe completion of the USCCA course of fire

Additional Notes from Your Instructor
The pistol qualification portion of the course will be conducted at an indoor range at the same location as the in class instruction. The qualification portion consist of 50 rounds at an 8 inch target at ranges of 4yds, 7yds, 10yds, and 15 yds.
