What You'll Learn
Benefitting the American Legion Post 500
Our Texas License to Carry (LTC) class is anything but boring! We keep it fun, relaxed, and engaging while diving into Texas state and federal laws, making sure you understand how to carry responsibly and safely.
By the end of the course, you’ll be ready to apply for your official Texas LTC permit. Bonus: That permit lets you legally carry in other states with reciprocity agreements. Translation? More freedom, fewer restrictions, and a whole lot more peace of mind.
To earn your LTC, you’ll need to pass a quick written test (don’t worry, we’ve got you covered) and show off your skills in a shooting proficiency test. That includes safe handling, loading and unloading, and hitting targets up to 15 yards out.
Cancellation Policy: Students are required to cancel at least 24 hours in advance of a class date in order to receive a full refund. Classes cancelled less than 24 hours before the class will not be refunded. Contact training@dopsonpersonalsafety.com to discuss if funds can be applied toward another date.

If you are new to handguns, this is a great introduction to everything you need to know to start your self-protection journey.
This course is a complete guide to understanding the basics of firearms ownership, safety, and nomenclature, and how it applies to home- or self-defense. After this class, students will feel confident to act as their family’s first line of defense in the event of a home invasion or other critical incident.
