My Biography
Tanea McClean, mother of 3 and founder of Surreal Self Defense. The primary mission of Surreal Self Defense is to teach women how to defend themselves with a firearm or through empty hand self defense techniques, and to instill in each woman that they have the power to defend and protect themselves at anytime, any place, and against any threat with in the guidelines of the law.
Life took me through some experiences that required me to embrace the superwoman inside of me. I began studying techniques for situational awareness, firearms, and self defense which led me to self awareness about my strength, my power, and my courage.
My training began in 2016 for Self Defense and Firearm Safety for personal reasons, and shortly there after I wanted other women to feel the comfort and confidence in being prepared to defend themselves and their loved ones in potentially life threatening situations.

*Share the importance of firearms safety, ownership, and training.
*Empower you with the knowledge, skills, and confidence required to use a handgun safely & proficiently.
*Build the number of responsibly armed women
*Encourage you to get out of your comfort zone, to adopt the correct mindset for personal protection and to train and practice regularly.

This class will cover the universal firearms safety rules, functions & parts of a semi-automatic, & shooting fundamentals. This is the perfect class for a first time shooter or a refresher course!
There will be live fire & simulations options - we will meet you where you are.

Join us as we explore why situational awareness & conflict avoidance are so important!
Remember, 3 options typically exist when it comes to a violent encounter:
- Avoid the situation entirely
- Escape from a situation that is already in progress; or 3 )Defend ourselves from a situation that we weren't able to avoid and are unable to escape from.

Join us for our community intro to Guns & Gardening! We will discuss & implement the universal safety rules, parts and functions of a firearm, and what to do if you come across a gun that isn't yours! We will also explore the world of planting and growing through gardening!
Our hands on demonstrations, and inclusive conversations will familiarize the community with basic firearms handling skills & safety, plus how to garden and sustain plants, fruits & veggies!
With our simulation training and laser technology you & your child will get the real deal experience WITHOUT projectiles & live fire. A totally safe experience!
Ages 6+ are welcome! We want the entire community to come out!

Your 1 on 1 private session will cover range etiquette, proper handling of a firearm, firearm safety, and an intro to marksmanship. All fees are included in the price & all resources will/can be provided.
All instruction will take place from the range!!!

Come learn how to control life threatening bleeding using direct pressure, wound packing, and tourniquet application.
Please note that this class requires hands on participation, completion of E-learning, classroom engagement, passing a shooting qualification, and more. Being present does not guarantee that you will leave with a USCCA Instructor Certificate. If you attend the course and do NOT receive certification a refund will not be issued. This is a pass/fail course. If you are unable to pass the class you will need to retake the course at a later date.
