What You'll Learn
Our 7 hour course will present to you the State of Tennessee’s standards for obtaining the Enhanced Carry Permit. This course consists of both classroom lecture and on-site live fire qualification.
The student must pass both the written and range qualification with a minimum score of 70%.
After the successful completion of this course you will be able to apply for the TN Enhanced Handgun Carry Permit which will allow you to carry in 37 states, in addition to the State of Tennessee.
Course Topics include:
- Universal Handgun Safety Rules * Requirements for transporting a handgun in Tennessee * Legal liabilities of carrying a firearm in Tennessee * Requirements for the use of self-defense and the use of deadly force in Tennessee * Ammunition malfunctions * Firearm malfunctions * Weapon caliber and selection * Concealment * Interaction with law enforcement, and much more.
Class Requirements:
Step #1 In order to attend the TN Enhanced Handgun Carry Permit Class, all students MUST obtain a unique CONFIRMATION number from the State of Tennessee PRIOR to taking the course.

A safe, reliable handgun (semi-automatic or revolver), subject to inspection by the instructor.

50 Rounds of Factory Ammunition (no reloaded ammo). Handgun rentals are available if needed. Rental fee is $25 and includes 50 rounds of ammunition.
Cancellation Policy: We understand that life happens and you might need to reschedule your class time. We do allow rescheduling as long as it is 48 hours BEFORE the start time of your class. However, we only allow a student to reschedule twice. The third occasion will result in the forfeiture of your registration. To reschedule a class you must call us directly at 808-352-4960. “No Shows” and “No Calls” that fail to reschedule within 48 hours of your class start time will lead to the forfeiture of 100% of your registration. A 15% fee will be charged for any cancellation of a scheduled private group class. Thank you for understanding and we look forward to training with you in class.
Safety Policy:
Classroom Safety - Safety guidelines require that there be NO GUNS or Ammunition in the classroom.
Range Safety - When arriving on the range, all personal firearms should be unloaded and stored in a case, bag, or other container. Holsters are not required for this class. However, any holster used should be a strong-side, OWB holster to avoid unsafe handling of the firearm. Standard range safety protocols will be reviewed prior to the start of the Range Qualification portion of the class.
Cancellation Policy: Students are required to cancel at least 48 hours in advance of a class date in order to receive a full refund. Classes cancelled less than 48 hours before the class will receive credit towards a future class. In the event of a weather event, the class will receive credit towards a future class.
What We'll Teach
Legal Use of Force
In this lesson, Michael Martin will cover important legal topics, including the laws governing the legal use of force inside and outside the home. Within this lesson, you’ll get a chance to test what you’ve learned, using several real world scenarios with you as the actor.
Additional Notes from Your Instructor
At The Ready, LLC cannot accept applicants who are currently being treated for post-traumatic stress syndrome (PTSD) or other mental illnesses. At The Ready, LLC reserves the right to dismiss any student who violates any safety protocols whether in the classroom or on the range. ONE DAY CLASSES: Written Test and Shooting Qualification will be done on the same day. TWO DAY CLASSES: The written test will be administered on the FIRST DAY and the Shooting Qualification on the SECOND DAY.
