What You'll Learn
The USCCA’s Defensive Pistol Program (DPP) is a comprehensive course designed to help participants develop essential defensive shooting skills using live-fire and dry-fire training. The program is broken into six parts, each progressively building on the last to ensure the best results for individual students. These six parts include classroom-based learning and live-fire training to fully integrate objective and performance-based training methods. By using motor learning and skill acquisition science, DPP ensures participants are equipped with the knowledge and practical experience needed for effective pistol use in a defensive context.

Additional Notes from Your Instructor
Comprehensive Curriculum: The DPP consists of a classroom module followed by multiple live-fire range modules. This structure allows participants to build their skills progressively, ensuring a solid foundation in defensive shooting techniques. Training Methods: The program employs both live-fire and dry-fire training methods, integrating objective and performance-based training principles. This approach is rooted in motor learning and skill acquisition science, which helps participants effectively prepare for real-world defensive situations. NOTE: DPP is not for the brand-new shooter. You must have a certain basic level of knowledge to manipulate your firearm unassisted by the instructor as well as be able to be on a live fire range and follow all safety procedures for the DPP course. Prior to the full 3-day course you must attend one of the offerings of The Intro to DPP Assessment course. This class is an assessment of the student's skills that will be critical in determining whether or not the student is safe and proficient enough to do the holster work and drills that encompass the DPP course. The DPP course is a 20-hour comprehensive course that consists of 5 modules that must be taken in numerical order as the skills build on those learned in the previous module. Upon successful completion of the assessment course, you will be eligible to enroll in the DPP course that will be offered. DPP full course is subject to minimum registration in order for class to be held at established time. If the minimum numbers of seats are not met, student will be rolled too next class offering of DPP. Shooting is a perishable skill and DPP assessment class is good for 6 months, after 6 months from successfully completing this course, student must retake the assessment again free of charge before enrolling in full DPP course. Due to the nature of this class, it is non-refundable. If notice is given in advance students may roll to the next DPP full class offering. All reschedules are at the discretion of Frontier Justice. This class is to be shot from a concealed carry posture. CCW holster is required, along with mag carriers and minimum of three magazines. All gear has to be approved by the class lead instructor and will be verified during your attendance of the Intro to DPP Assessment Course.
