What You'll Learn
Most people carry pepper spray—but very few have ever practiced using it.
This course is designed to change that.
Led by a certified USCCA non-lethal instructor, this hands-on class teaches you how to safely carry, deploy, and control pepper spray with confidence if you ever need it. Whether you’re heading off to college, working with the public, or simply want to feel more prepared in everyday life, this training is built for you.
In this class, you will:
• Learn when and how pepper spray can be used responsibly • Understand how to carry it so it’s accessible when you need it • Practice proper deployment techniques using the ASP Defender2 system (with water-based training) • Build muscle memory through guided drills so your response becomes natural and controlled • Learn what to do immediately after deployment
This is not just a lecture—you will actively train in a safe, controlled environment until the skills feel comfortable and repeatable.
At the end of the class, each participant will receive a retail-packaged ASP Defender2 pepper spray to take with them—so you leave not only trained, but equipped and confident in your ability to use it if needed.
If you already carry pepper spray (or are considering it), this course will help you move from uncertainty to confidence.
Cancellation Policy: Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel your registration. For paid classes, cancellations made less than 24 hours before the start time are non-refundable. For free classes, advance notice allows us to offer your spot to another participant.
What We'll Teach
ASP Defender
This class will introduce you to the Defender - a low-profile, highly effective pepper spray device from Armament Systems & Procedures, Inc. (ASP). You will learn what makes this device so effective, as well as what you need to consider when carrying it. Plus, you will get hands-on training with the Defender which will increase your confidence and competence in carrying this device as a means of self-protection.
