What You'll Learn
This is the Level 2 Range Qualification for the USCCA Protector Academy. Must have completed level 1 before this session.
TEST YOUR SKILLS & EARN BADGES WITH QUALIFICATIONS
The USCCA Protector Academy guides you, step by step, through lifesaving qualification courses that will help you master the lifesaving skills and knowledge every protector really needs.
Only participants who follow the 4 Universal Safety rules will be allowed to qualify. Breaking the safety rules will disqualify you and you’ll be required to leave the range.
The Level 2 qualification requires a minimum of 45 rounds and 2 magazines for each attempt. You'll have at least 2 opportunities to qualify in this qualification session. This is a qualification session and not a training session. If you want instruction, please look for our range training sessions.
The distance for Level 2 is 3 yards (9 feet). The target is 8 inches in diameter. All shots (100%) must be within the circle and not touching the outer edge. Our range is set at 5 yards (15 feet), so the target is adjusted to 13.33 inch diameter.
Competency Check: Using snap caps, load, unload and show clear (three repetitions, not timed). Part 1: Three rounds in 1 magazine each repetition within 6 seconds (three repetitions total) Part 2: Three rounds in 2 magazines each repetition within 12 seconds (three repetitions total) Part 3: Three rounds and one dummy round in each of 2 magazines each repetition completed within 15 seconds.
Our range is covered in a barn, but it uses outdoor air for ventilation. So please dress for the weather. We have some heaters and fans.
