In this class, your instructor will give you a clear presentation of the laws regarding the use of deadly force for self-defense in North Carolina. You will also learn about the laws surrounding concealed carry and how to safely and accurately shoot a handgun. Your instructor is a former law enforcement officer and a retired combat veteran.
Please bring a handgun, 50 rounds of ammunition, and eye/ear protection. If you do not have a handgun, all required gear (gun, magazines, ammo, eye pro, and ear pro) can be rented for $20 ($30 for a 9mm gun).
Our classroom is located at 115 Amos Bridges Road (Home2Suites) in Sanford. After an 8-hour classroom portion (to meet NC requirements), we will travel to the range facility located at 284 Cletus Hall Road in Sanford.
This class meets or exceeds the state requirements for obtaining a Concealed Carry Handgun permit.
An excellent foundation for folks who are afraid of or uncomfortable with a handgun but who want to be prepared for home defense or concealed carry. We discuss different kinds of handguns and how to choose the one that's right for you. We also focus safety, gun handling skills, and maintenance. Finally, we teach fundamental shooting techniques, and put those techniques into practice at the range.
A high-quality textbook is included. Also included is the rental fee for a gun, ammunition, eye protection and ear protection.
"You are your own first responder!"

In this class, we will focus on how churches and synagogues can prepare for the unthinkable: an armed assault on a worship service, motivated by hate. We will also provide practical tips and a pathway for standing up a volunteer armed security team.
This class builds on the skills trained in Defensive Pistol 1, and introduces the draw from concealment. Our main focus will be to practice defensive shooting from the draw (and how that is different than target shooting) and transitioning either from one target to another, or from a larger target to a smaller one.
ASDI powered by USCCA, plans to deliver at least 250 free concealed carry permit classes, as the nation marks its 250th anniversary, reinforcing its commitment to supporting those who serve.
In support of this policy change, USCCA announced a new nationwide initiative to provide free concealed carry permit classes to military personnel serving on active duty, National Guard, or in the reserves. The training will also be available to dependents and veterans and offered near major military installations across the country. Each offering is structured to meet the specific state requirements necessary to obtain a concealed carry permit in the state where it is conducted. Attendees will leave with the certificate and required documentation to apply for their state-issued concealed carry permit.
Your instructor for this class is a retired Army Civil Affairs NCO with a passion for teaching folks of all skill levels when and how to defend themselves with a handgun.
