What You'll Learn
This class will be the shooting component for prior students who completed the classroom Use of Force training. We will review the NJ CCARE (Civilian Carry Assessment and Range Evaluation) including the Use of Force Training for Private Citizen Concealed Carry, NJ State Police Firearm Safety & Awareness Powerpoint presentation, and shooting requirement at an FBI-Q target (50 rounds) at distances of 15, 10, 7, 5, and 3 yards and you need to score an 80% to pass. You must wear long pants, no open-toe shoes, bring your own handgun and ammo, a sturdy belt and holster, and can have 2 attempts to pass the shooting requirement (so 100 rounds is recommended). Open to law enforcement, prior students, attorneys, or New Yorkers who obtained their NY concealed carry permit after 10/1/2022.
For Maryland, the timed shooting qualification is 25 rounds at a B-27 target (5 rounds at 3 yards, 10 rounds at 5 yards, 5 rounds at 7 yards, and 5 rounds at 15 yards) and you need to score a 70% to pass. You must wear long pants, no open-toe shoes, bring your own handgun and ammo, a sturdy belt and holster, and can have 2 attempts to pass the shooting requirement (so 50 rounds is recommended). Open to law enforcement, prior students, or New Yorkers who obtained their NY concealed carry permit after 10/1/2022. There is also another required classroom component to cover the Maryland educational material.
Connecticut and Massachusetts requirements are fulfilled by the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting class. Please contact me to get you registered if you're interested in the Connecticut State Permit to Carry Pistols and Revolvers or the Massachusetts License to Carry Firearms (Class A-Large Capacity)
