    "I learned a lot from Denis Mower in the certified concealed carry course he taught this weekend. The pertinent experience in military service and policing that he shared with the class offered us invaluable, basic tools to assess and provide tactics to use in cases of interpersonal conflict, from evasion to use of deadly force. With more practice and training I might someday feel competent to use the knowledge wisely. His perspective on what he shared has challenged my longstanding discomfort with the NRA and handguns for personal protection, something that is a stretch and important for me to invite into this stage of my life. Call it a bucket list item I'm glad to have accomplished and with Denis' humanity and humor it was a rare opportunity with a great class group and instructor, offered through Dave Colburn and Shooters Haven.
