What You'll Learn
This 15 hour Concealed Carry course satisfies New Mexico law for applying for certification to carry a concealed weapon. It places emphasis on the state laws governing concealed carry, safe gun handling, conflict avoidance, and understanding the prevailing legal aspects of armed self-defense. Lady Defenders promotes handgun fundamentals and safety in a small classroom environment that focus on face-to-face, personal instruction. Twelve hours of classroom instruction will occur during the first day ending with short ungraded quiz to show you made it to the end of the classroom portion, followed next day by three hour range time with live-fire qualification at nearby Hobbs Gun Club in Hobbs, NM.
Cancellation Policy: Students are required to cancel at least 48 hours in advance of a class date in order to receive a full refund. Classes cancelled less than 48 hours before the class will not be refunded.

Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals is a comprehensive classroom course for anyone considering owning or carrying a firearm for self-defense. If you are new to handguns, this is a great introduction to everything you need to know to start your self-protection journey.
This course is a complete guide to understanding the basics of firearms ownership, safety, and nomenclature, and how it applies to home- or self-defense. After this class, students will feel confident to act as their family’s first line of defense in the event of a home invasion or other critical incident.
Additional Notes from Your Instructor
You may qualify with a revolver or semiautomatic pistol, or both if desired. If you have a handgun (revolver or semiautomatic), bring it unloaded on range day (day 3). If you do not have handgun, contact Lady Defenders for options. Bring 50 rounds of ammo in each caliber qualifying with. The minimum age to obtain a CHL permit in the state of New Mexico is 21. Additional NM fees up to $159 to state required to apply for permit. Lady Defenders will provide refreshments, New Mexico Concealed Handgun Act Handbook as well as the state required paperwork.
